Try the grippy shelf liner under your baskets that are under your couch for when you are moving, cut a piece to go under each one. It’s great for keeping things pretty well in place. Your camper looks amazing! It looks so peaceful and happy! We live in northern MN and we travel with our kids in our 5th wheel for 4-6 months at a time over the winter for the past 2 years. You wouldn’t regret it if you tried it! And being a minimalist it’s an easy transition 😀

I retired last June. First I got myself a dog. Then I started looking for a small van to try a no build conversion, but the ones I could afford were, well, grubby. Then, in October I bought the smallest campervan I have ever seen. 2 seats, single sleep platform, kitchenette, commode. Built in 1999, 1 litre engine, so it’s my daily runaround. This weekend I’m off to Glencoe in Scotland. I think this winter I might try some sticky back wallpaper too. Thanks for the inspiration Dawn.

Totally get it! I renovated my entire 45 foot class A. Painted, wallpapered, painted all wood, cabinets, doors, drawers, recovered chairs, etc. Loved the project, love the new look. If you ever want to watch an exceptional camper organization, watch Grateful Glampor, she's amazing!

We have had 6 old trailers that we adored! We are retired now and own a new trailer, wow 😂. BUT each one of those old trailers hug at my heart ❤. Those memories are so precious and our children now try to share the same memories with THEIR children. Your efforts on your trailers are beautiful!

I was thinking you could a boot tray under the couch and it would keep the bins from moving around. I find boot trays are a lot more handy than I would have ever thought. Just an idea. Cheap, easy to clean and removable. Plus the black, rubber boot trays (like at Costco or Target) for example, don’t slide around. Your camper is adorable!!

I have this exact set in in my camper! I decorated mine too. And you are right. It is EVERYTHING you need! We spend the majority of our time outside at our site or exploring. We just need an easy to pull camper, climate controlled comfy area to sleep and a bathroom, especially for night time. We pull over at rest stops and can make meals or even take a nap on our really long journeys. Its perfect!

A tip for making the kids beds is to take the whole mattress off, put the sheet on and replace the mattress with the sheet already one. Still a hassle but I find it easier than clambering up on the bed 😊

Me and my partner are living in almost that exact layout for the summer! Just an arm chair and a table instead of a sofa. We want to go backpacking and hiking a lot, and are paying off debt in the meantime! No better reason to get outside than you feel crazy sitting in your tiny camper 😂

I would add a little swiggle of hot glue underneath the edge of the floor baskets. Then you can still lift and slide them in and out easily but the little swiggle line would keep them from sliding while driving. ❤

Awesome renovation! As far as not brining disposable water bottles, I can share what we do- after a terrible campground water experience, we invested in a Berkey water filter and bring that with every time we camp so we can just fill it from the campground water but don’t have the nasty chlorine or sulfur or other weird water smells or tastes that we had experienced. We just bring a washable water bottle per family member, the Berkey and a pitcher for filling the Berkey reservoir. 😊

I totally agree. We use a Berkey at home 24/7. No more weird over chlorinated or earth tasting who knows how long its been in the pipes water. Every glass is refreshing :) Taking it in the camper would simply involve bunging to the wall on the kitchen counter for no slippage travel.

Adorable! Our kids all time favorite camping trip was on a houseboat on lake vermillion. The walls were spotted with dead mosquitoes by the end of the trip. As you painted the walls of your camper I was thinking, "good decision, the mosquitoes carcasses won't be as visible. " Have a great summer!

I love what you guys have done. Try the Velcro command strips on the bottom of the bins under the couch so they are secure when you drive but you can change it up easily later if you needs change or you have other ideas

It looks so good! And I have to agree, it is so nice being able to do what you love without guilt of your home. I recently decluttered my last two drawers and now my home is completely decluttered! 🤗 I know I’ll have to make sweeps through it every now and then so it doesn’t creep in again. But I’ve been enjoying my home along with other activities that I’ve been wanting to pick up. Like gardening for example…I’m going to go do that right now. It's been a while since I visited your channel and I've missed you. We're heading out camping this week (tent camping) with a big group of friends, that we gather with annually. I've stalled out in my decluttering journey that I started with you, Dana & Cas a couple of years ago when we temporarily moved out of our home to renovate. Packing for this trip has me inspired to start with my clothes and get rid of the stuff that I'm not wearing. Thank you for your inspiration and cheerleading. I don't ever expect to be a minimalist, but I definitely want to reduce my inventory.

To help with the water bottle situation, my husband and I started bringing our Pur water purification pitcher in our camper so we can have filtered drinking water. We also bring it when tent camping too so we can have filtered drinking water and water for dishes/bathing.

That "always have something on the calendar"- YES. Its not just about knowing its there, but that you are just more likely to take time for enjoyment if you schedule it! I'm sure it wouldn't be Dawn approved since you keep a clean fridge front, but my husband and I keep an "Upcoming fun" printed list on the front, with concerts, comedy shows, big and small trips. We trim off the parts as events pass so when the list starts looking short, we know we need to find a new something fun! Everytime I go to the fridge I'm reminded of how soon our next fun thing is. I love it.

I remodeled my 32' travel trailer myself, all with Utube inspiration of many Beautiful makeovers I live in my trailer full-time as a workamper so I made it a tiny home I painted everything!!! I hung peel & stick wallpaper over my mirror closet doors and over painted wall papered wall in my kitchen! So yes I get it! I tore out all the blinds and window boxes put up double rods for sheer drapes then black out drapes I adore it, as you do yours Make it like home and it's super fun to use! Great video

Looks awesome! Bunk Making TIP! Pull the bunk mattress off put the fitted sheet on then put it back up. Then make the rest with it up there. But that makes it way easily I get that fitted shit on!

My husband and I just got back from our first road trip with our new to us 1981 dodge camper van. The van was great and the cat even did very well travelling. We went from the east side of Manitoba Canada west to Calgary, Alberta Canada. We slept for free just off the country roads. It was relaxing and quiet.

We always loved camping when the kids were young, now they’re grown and we have great grandchildren. This year all of us are going on a cruise, all 25 of us. Camping was easier to prepare for, but I know we’ll be making wonderful memories.

Love your videos, Dawn and Tom! We are in our mid 60’s and our summer calendar is quite full! But our camping consists of sleeping on our 24’ open-bow boat under camper covers. So it is much like tent camping but not on the dirty ground. We have been doing it for years and love it! Our favorite locations are on the Mississippi up near MN as well as Lake of the Ozarks (we rent a condo when there.) And since we live in Madison, WI we like to boat camp near Door County and Lake Winnebago. If we had a bigger boat we would venture out on the Great Lakes more. But it is so much fun to have a way to just get out of town.

Doing a couple quilt shops...then sightseeing on the way back to Ohio for my sister to spend time with the rest of the family/siblings. She's never done the Arch in St. Louis...so that's our overnight on the way to Ohio.

Try blu- tac on the bottom of the baskets.. it’s reusable too. I use it in my kitchen drawers for cutlery/utensils baskets etc

Putting two little hooks in the corners and then attaching a bungie cord when you travel is an easier option than a wooden shelf and you can remove the bungie and have freedom of movement when you aren't in motion.
