If you need more than that you have a subwoofer which you will have an external amp for anyway.

Guys you missed a very important field of review and that is what is the mapping / navigation like in off road applications. There are aftermarket applications that can supply off-road navigation. You can pay thousands of dollars for a system and get poor results. I’ve found the standard head unit to have reasonable navigation and planning abilities but haven’t found an aftermarket unit with good performance yet. Please add this to your reviews.

Horrible video - the only radio on this list worth buying is the Alpine. Pioneer is like GM, works out of the box but uses all low quality parts. My wife is on her THIRD Pioneer in 5 years, and the current one doesn't work in extreme cold. I just sold a car with the Alpine in it which I owned for 2 years and it never skipped a beat.

People seem to complain about Alpine software,that it's not their forte and they should just stick to speakers etc...I'm driving an 05 Pontiac grand prix by the way and putting in an aftermarket unit in a few weeks

I have had the Pioneer w4500NEX for a couple of years and it is buggy. Don’t buy it. My car stereo shop says they are seeing a lot of complaints for this model. It’ll start rebooting when I touch the screen then it’ll be ok for a few weeks. Then it’s something else.
