@@PJK-444i can’t quite understand it, but Toyota/Lexus has apparently addressed the “stresses” of not using a N/A engine. I don’t understand the engineering but the claim to address this. Unfortunately, several other unrelated issues are going on with their new drivetrains. New engine so it’s to be expected. Great news is they’ll work out the kinks in about 5 or so years and they’ll be building off this platform for 15 years as usual lol. There’s hope to buy one of them depreciated… just no time soon. Until then, N/A 4Runner, LC, GX, and LX are still easily found at a “discount”.

I really liked this list! Especially the Honda Civic award. It connects to your V12 road trip video, where you make the case for old classic styled sedans and why manufacturers can't seem to make good looking cars anymore. The CIVIC proves that you can. Best looking sedan that normal people can afford.

It can't be overstated how much Hyundai has elevated their brand compared to all global car brands. As someone who swore by Honda, Acura, Lexus, I made the switch to a Genesis G70 and love driving again. Dollar for dollar, you can't get more in a vehicle, with constant improvements in initial quality and reliability. If I ever decide an EV is worth owning, in Canada, the Ionic 5 N would definitely be my choice. Let's see another one of these by categories (under 50k, SUVs, hybrid, supercars) and you'll get triple the views! Love you guys

Genesis makes such wonderful cars, especially the 2022ish ones, where you still had physical dials and didn't have the huge infotainment screens. Too bad in Europe we don't get the 3.5 V6 and there's no dealer network. I guess we'll have to do with the Stinger GT

Love Trottle House but wish they would do more reviews on regular cars like they did more of years ago (ie compact cars comparisons / ordinary drag races) because while the more expensive cars maybe more fun to drive, it’s only to a small market. Give us back the car reviews for the masses with that great insight and production value! The drag races for super cars can be fun still, but other channels do that as well.

I've been saying HMG is actually killing it, and the i5N has been prime evidence of this (alongside all thier other cars). It's nice to see it get an award! How often is there a car that is quiet, spacious, can fit five people and groceries and is fully electric that with the click of (admittedly too many) buttons becomes a genuine drift machine that makes awesome noises and can SHIFT! Are you kidding me! It's so unrelentingly fun yet still decently practical, great pick!

Really hope you guys do another car of the year comparison vid again. Seeing this compared to the Emira is going to be super silly. The c8 vs the Emira actually made a bunch of sense since they're both mid engine at around the $100k mark. They directly competed against each other so the conversation was a lot more about pros and cons, whereas a 2024 vs 2023 vid will be about the different target demographics. It'll probably end up being a real interesting video since you'll get to really compare the different types of fun you can get in the different cars.

Have a 2025 civic. Can confirm that its THE daily. Suspension is stiff but not so much that driving is uncomfortable. Its spacious despite being a fairly short car which is great because it handles great. For a 4 cylinder it actually sounds very good( if that matters to you) and the interior is INCREDIBLE for the amount you pay. Also the seats are SO comfortable. I have 0 regrets going with this car.

While I have been frustrated with some of the internal policies in sales for Hyundai the past year, but I absolutely *love* the I5N. The styling, the sounds, the shifting, the power, and the customization (aside from the complexity of the menus; that'll likely get fixed in a year or so) is just so special feeling. The entire car from top to bottom feels like there were absolutely no compromises made to making something fun to drive and truly impressive as a car, not just as an EV. While I have my own personal opinion on EVs, and that's that EVs won't fix our climate, despite there being an exhaustive mountain of research showing they're *better* than Gas for the environment, they will be way more prevalent moving forward, and, if things move the way I think they will in broad strokes, we will likely begin to cut away gas subsidies in America. making ggas cars make less and less sense from a financial perspective, BUT... this doesn't spell the end of fun-to-drive, exciting, personality-driven cars. The future is murky, but this car gives me just a little bit of hope it's not going to be completely devoid of humanity in the automotive world. Thank you, Throttle House for another incredible year of videos!

Hyundai-Kia also makes some of the most interesting looking vehicles on the road. I've been considering jumping from a 10th Gen Civic to an Elantra, were it not for the rather woeful power to weight ratio outside the N. EVs won't fix our climate because nothing will. The planet lost its battle with the human race in 2016 and it (and us) are already as good as dead. That being said, there's plenty of other reasons to want to spend less on gas, and Hyundai has a bunch of hybrids that seem promising too.
