Thank you for this breakdown of the Medellin sections. Seen a ton of videos on the different areas, but nothing in depth like this. Looking to move out there eventually.

This was a really informative video. I liked how you pulled the map up and showed the good and bad parts of the city that way. I actually got more useful information from this than from those KZbinrs w/ 100k+ subscribers who fly the drones up and splice in the edm music and etc., etc., Couple of questions....Even though Enivigado and Sabaneta are cheaper.............would you just be equaling the cost out by having to cab it in to the lightlife areas? Rather than just staying directly in El Poblado. How much and how long is an average taxi ride from Sabaneta to El Poblado?
@dcmfox Жыл бұрын
Most of the girls you will meet live across town, way across town, so paying for their cab rides to and from your place is going to cost you 50 to 75 bucks per trip. Thanks for the info, I stayed for 6 months in a small but very nice studio and it was 1200 per month thru airbb

Sounds like you were meeting a bunch of girls who lived in Bello while you were in El Poblado.

I stayed in Sabaneta for 6 weeks in Jan/Feb. Through Airbnb (not direct with owner), $20 per night for a 1 bedroom furnished apartment. Nothing fancy, 1 bedroom apartment, building with an elevator, 2 blocks from the park and about a 10 minute walk from the metro station. I do agree that Sabaneta and Envigado have the best value for price and amenities. Laureles is becoming what Poblado was about 10 years ago. It's getting a little more expensive, with some more foreigners, but is still a pretty good value, especially with all of the nightlife in the area if that is what you are coming for. Transportation is one thing you should think about when booking a place. If you're planning to take an Uber/taxi everywhere then location is not as important. But I like the metro since you can get to most of the interesting parts of the city for very cheap. And during many parts of the day the taking the metro is often faster than a taxi, even if you have to walk a bit at either end, because traffic can be so heavy. And even if you do plan to take taxis, it is still nice to be within walking distance of some restaurants, bars and supermarkets so that you don't need a ride everywhere.

So how does it get so much cheaper when you go direct with the Airbnb owner? Do you do a lease type thing or pay more up front? Plan on going long term soon. Thanks for the info bro!

Between Envigado and Sabaneta would you say you need a car (or Motorcyle ) to get around more considering its a bti more out there.

You don't need a car. I hate a motorcycle and was never riding. Uber is just fine.

Been to mde few times and this video is 100% accurate. Don't pay the gringo pricing or overpriced Airbnbs especially in El Poblado, that place is overrated and actually less safe since thieves go there to target guess who? Tourists lol. So go blend in and stay low key.

I lived in Peru for 6 years.. So my Spanish is decent. For the last 5 months I've been traveling around the West Coast in my RV. I hate to say it but I'm so tired of the states. People are miserable here and it's time for me to move on. I've been in many places in Mexico. Trying to decide between Mexico and Colombia...

@@FelixTheTraveler Yes Lima,Miraflores to be specific. It's the best part of the city.. some of the best food in the world for sure. The problem in Lima is its cloudy and drizzles for 6 months in the winter similar to Seattle. I am also looking to get back into business.. I had an e-commerce business for the last 9 years that did very well. Not sure how good business networking is in your area for gringos
