Andy | Channel Empire I just bought the Sony a5100 and so far I'm really enjoying it. The quality of pics & video are really great in auto, and I'm still learning all of the manual settings too. Very impressed so far. I paid $600 for it. Just wish it had the eye finder, and not just the screen.

I wish you would have included info on microphones like quality of built in microphone and ability to plug external mic. I really like videos with quick info with no fluff.

I have the HF R700 (the prior generation), and it is fantastic. It shoots full HD (1920x1080) at full 30 fps frame rates. It's very quiet ( you don't hear the Af mechanism on camera), the auto-focus is very good and I rarely have to wait for it to capture the subject. The mic has excellent pickup for direct shots, but you can also pair it with a corded or wireless mic. The input on that mic is also adjustable, as well. Having that mic input jack is a huge plus, btw - even a shotgun mic doesn't help when you're off axis or further away. If you're getting started, or looking for a second-shot camera, I think this is the best possible fixed-lens option out there.

Hi ! I've watched almost all your videos and they've been very helpful. I'm thinking of buying the Sony Alpha a5000. It does seems however that we cannot plug in any microphone. Any suggestions on one that can be nice to use with it ? I'm kind of lost haha.

I have a Nikon D3200 dslr with a couple of different lenses, but I have not used it to shoot video yet, primarily because I haven't purchased a mic for it. I would like to get a good, affordable cordless, lavalier mic so that I can start using the Nikon instead of my smartphone. What would you recommend that has a good sound quality and doesn't pick up too much background noise, as it is often hard to get a studio quiet atmosphere when you have 4 kids in the house.

Hey man I bought the hf r8000 and I have the the older session which one you think has the better quality and audio?
@dirkparker45367 жыл бұрын
Hey Andy - there are a few great free de-essers that I think would profit the audio in your videos. They're really easy to use. They will remove the harsh sibilance in any of your audio. I am sure you know this, but when you compress your audio it makes everything louder, even the things that wouldn't normally be louder when we speak louder (like ss's and t's that sound painful).

Hi andy. I got the canon dslr. Can u recommand me some microphones for outdoor using? Mostly gonne be in the woods and near the coast. I wanne catch the nature sounds from the birds, water waves, rain but also open fire. I will record me making food outside but also a lot of fishing. Is a wireless micrphone the way to go + a shotgun mic for cooking food? Cuz when i make food i wont move anywhere than 1-2 meter away from the cam. Fishing will be different cuz the cam will be a little bit father away but i also got an go pro on my head when i fish. Budget 300$ Ty so much if u got the time to answer and keep up the good work with your awesome channel

I am a video-photographer and I settled on the Lumix Panasonic DMC-G7. Does 4K and amazing functionality built in. Cant say Id recommend any dslr, unless you have the lens already spare (and you probably wont be using them anyway)

awesome channel!!! I want a camera that has descent audio quality when singing (no buzzing sound when you sing high notes or play guitar), and that doesn't have too much grain in low light conditions... not to pricey... that's what brought me here :)

Josephine De Smet Jo did you find a camera? The Zoom Q2 might work, has a bunch of drawbacks sound quality is probably not one of them. So much depends on your application it seems. You can check out the Q2 at B&H Photo

ryan's YT I have this camcorder and no it doesn’t. But, for another $10-$15 you can get a bracket that holds the camcorder/camera and you can add multiple accessories like an external mic, flash......I went with this one. Zeadio Video Action Stabilizing Handle Grip Handheld Stabilizer with Metal Triple Shoe Mount for Canon Nikon Sony Panasonic Pentax Olympus DSLR Camera Camcorder www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y51PMR6?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf, personal preference, you can mount it on a tripod or on its own. At this budget I also researched a lot and went with the takstar sac-598 external mic for around $30. TAKSTAR SGC-598 Interview Microphone for Nikon/Canon Camera/DV Camcorder www.amazon.com/dp/B00E58AA0I?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf. Good luck.

I think the Nikon 3300 may be better for videos like yours than the 3400. I have one, and the 3400 doesn't have 3.5 mm jack for a microphone and my brother has the 3300, and he has a microphone on his.
@mrsrhardy7 жыл бұрын
Id never recomend a dslrpro for video. If you already have one, then yes ok but not to start out. Too big, bulky and not video friendly for newbies (or pro's like me) ~ but if its what you have then you just make it work for you.
