I purchased this combo pack last month and in my opinion you can’t go wrong getting both tools for an extra $30. I only needed the blower to replace a gas one but the value had me sold. Used it for the first time yesterday and I’m very impressed. I have about a 1/4 acre lawn and both tools preformed great. Battery life also great, both lasted well enough to complete the job. I did purchase an extra battery so now each tool has its own power source. Only down side is the small diameter string on the trimmer which I will be trying a little larger .95 to see how it preforms. I’ve seen other videos where you can and they say battery life will suffer….however I’m not worried with an extra battery on hand. IMO this in an excellent deal for homeowners, best of luck choosing.

100% agree this kit is hard to beat for the price! I have purchased many of the regular Skil tools over the years, but this was my first Skil outdoor power equipment and so far I have been impressed. Since this purchase, I have also added the hedge trimmer, chainsaw, and polesaw which all work great.

Buy a Hart trimmer. They handle .095 no problem. They also come with a 4.0 amp hour battery. The motor on top is so much more comfortable to use. My Hart Mower is going on four years old now and their batteries last a long time. Still using original batteries.

I went with Hart units because they come with 4 amp hour 40 volt batteries. I wanted a second battery to share with the trimmer and the mower. To me having a second battery strong enough to use in the mower that will really have decent run time meant skipping Skil. Have no regrets. Having the motor on the trimmer up on top near the battery was a must. Having the motor down in the string head is awful. Having that weight so far from your body works on your back after a while. Motor on top makes for a well balanced so much more comfortable unit and to me comfort is so important.

I'm not familiar with the Hart version, but I agree sometimes the larger ah batteries come in handy. Hopefully at some point Skil starts offering the higher ah batteries in their kits as well (especially on the chainsaw kit).

@@TeamDIYNow Hart are sold at Walmart and they make a bunch of different tools. Yard and battery powered hand tools Made by the same company that makes Ryobi tools.

No not on this trimmer. If you want to use the additional attachments, you need to buy the more expensive SKIL PWR CORE 40 Brushless 16'' Multi-Head PLT1500C-10 (amzn.to/4bGzioZ).

CB7542B-10 is the 20v model. CB7478C-11 is the 40v and is more powerful.

Cheap isn't always bad as some people want to know what the best tool they can buy for the money. If you compare to other 40v competition in this price range (which is cheap when compared to others), I think this is hard to beat considering you get a trimmer, blower, battery and charger.
