It is remarkable how impressive this compact camera performs. With over a decade of experience as a videographer, I can attest that the footage captured could easily be mistaken for that shot with a camera ten times its cost. The skillful color grading undoubtedly enhanced the overall tone of the video.

You can charge a client using any camera. The client is paying for the end product, not the tool you choose to use. If your work is what they’re interested in, that’s all that matters

I was just wondering why I haven't seen many videos where they work with the pocket 3, and I've also seen comments like "I would never work with this, it's only for vlog, youtubers, a toy" but I was fascinated by the fact of its great quality, the gimbal and portability

Erwin, I have found a new friend & someone I appreciate in addition to a couple of others out there! You are very easy to follow & I completely appreciate your journey here & your willingness to take us along with you. I’ve never had anyone take us to color grading I I appreciate that added attention SO MUCH. I was blown away. I’m a little older & have tons of extra time, so I’m trying to find new passions to run with and great folks like you are certainly helping me!!! Also, your name REALLY makes me want to call you “Fletch”!! I’m showing my age a little with that reference. I love this DJI OSMO PKT 3 as well & you have another follower & fan, my friend! when im in a pinch and wothout my ND's, shooiting auto exposure has been surprisingly helpful too, as long as the EV is set to -0.3 - the added pro to this is pulling frames as still images at a higher shutter speed, if colored correctly you end up with disposable camera vibes, since its the same focal length. (ND+motion blur always the preference though)

The point of the nd is to not make the shutter faster. The faster shutter does reduce light but it also eliminates motion blur which makes movement look jittery

New Feature Requests for the New DJI OSMO Pocket 3 1. Add a dwelling time for each of up to four settable movement positions in Motion Time-Lapse Mode. As each of the four settable positions programmed into a motion time-lapse sequence is reached, the end user could set from 1 to 10 seconds of a pause in gimbal movement as each programmed position is reached during the sequence before the gimbal moves forward to the next programmed position. This would yield a much more dynamic and professional looking, smoother motion time-lapse sequence. 2. In Motion Time-Lapse Mode the ability to set movement ease in and ease out settings from 0.5 to 3 seconds for each programmable gimbal position before gimbal movement normal progression rate is reached. 3. True 24.00p filming speed. 4. The ability to set time-lapse sequences based on 24.00p. 5. The ability to be able to record from the DJI Mic 2 and from a plugged in via USB audio source at the same time. 6. Adding a 10 Bit 4:2:2 recordable video codec. 7. Please add zoom capability when shooting in all time-lapse modes.

If I have my own LUTS, would I just disregard using the conversion LUT from DJI?
@erwinmarionneaux
@erwinmarionneaux 7 ай бұрын
Depends on the lut you have. If it’s just a “look” lut, you’d apply it after the conversion lut which is typically the case. It’s possible to make a lut that converts and gives a look but then it’ll only work on that specific camera.

bro, do I need to set ev +1 when shooting with dlog-m??
@erwinmarionneaux
@erwinmarionneaux 9 ай бұрын
It’s a case by case thing. You kinda have to use your own judgement based on the situation. In camera light meters aren’t the best tool to gauge exposure so sometimes it might say +1 just because there’s a bright light in the scene but actually might be over exposed. So it’s always best to know what over exposed or underexposed footage looks like and apply your own judgement
@ProtoMarcus
@ProtoMarcus 9 ай бұрын
I actually found generally setting EV to -0.3 to -0.7 is the sweet spot - captures enough data to increase brightness in post without having crap image and retaining proper shadows and defined blacks
@erwinmarionneaux
@erwinmarionneaux 9 ай бұрын
@ProtoMarcus it’s always scene dependent. That might work most of the time, but I never pay attention to that because it’s always best to focus on what works in that specific moment.
