The only thing I’m not a fan of is using the mist filter. I would much rather add bloom and halation in post using something like Dehancer Pro. I also really like the fact that you can pick from several different film stock emulation with that plug-in (minus the grain).

Yes, but you'll find that your shot will get too bright if there's too much light. In that instance, you'll need to either buy those filters or change your shutter speed.

@dylanjohndickerson3 ай бұрын
It does, however the caveat is that it won't record any audio. You can find it by going to the slow motion video mode and you'll see 4k 120 there. I believe it slows it down in camera so your file is already slowed down. Once again though, no audio.

@TravelWithAC3 ай бұрын
3:47 This is actually incorrect. The Dlog M profiles on the osmo pocket 3 is not log at all. its simply a rec709 thats been desaturated. It doesn't give ANY extra dynamic range. If you want the best image, look up how to shoot in HLG which is the HDR formate which offers plenty more dynamic range, and using a software liek Davinci you can use a cst and conform this to a rec-709 output. Must better and is actutally an image with more information. Again, the Dlog M found on the osmo pocket 3 isn't log at all and doesn't actually give you any extra information like a real Log would.
@dylanjohndickerson3 ай бұрын
Interesting. This is in the Pocket 3 manual though: “In addition, the 10-bit D-Log M color mode provides a more comfortable color perception and a larger dynamic range, which is convenient for post-production color correction.”
@TravelWithAC3 ай бұрын
@@dylanjohndickerson Its false. Do the tests. in fact, pull the footage into davinci, it'll show you its a rec-709. DJI has never posted white papers on their 'D-log' M. I'm not here to argue or anything, I just don't want other to have the incorrect opinion that they're getting anything else out of the footage... They're not. a simple google search will tell you more than the pocket 3 manual will. D-log M is nothing more than their regular footage with a curve on it. Theres a reason theres no CST in Davinci resolve for it.
@TravelWithAC3 ай бұрын
@@dylanjohndickerson I wrote a long response, not sure what happened to it. The manual is wrong. its just rec-709 with a log like curve. a flattened image in post not actually giving any extra range. pull it into davinci resolve. itll show its rec-709. theres a reason they;ve never shown white papers on that 'Log' its because it isn't log. Its like desaturating an image, lowering contrast and calling it log or maybe raw. the dynamic range is no different than if you just shot in the normal color profile and lowered these things yourself. some of their cameras do have real log, but not the osmo pocket 3 unfortunately. this is why there is no CST for the profile in Davinci. but again, the workaround is to shoot in HLG and you can transform properly with an output to rec-709 and THIS will give you extra latitude and dynamic range.
@TravelWithAC2 ай бұрын
@ loaded question 😅 Best is subjective in this case but to keep it short Yes, you can shoot HLG and have a rec-709 output. They have transform luts that are easy to use for HlG unlike d-logm (because that’s really just a flat rec-709 anyway lol) If you search hlg osmo 3 Davinci on KZbin there’s a great video with the entire transform process. Makes it easy and gives you a great recipe from beginning to end.

@@dylanjohndickerson I should apologize for sounding a bit harsh with my comment as I had spent hours looking for videos that showed the potential of the dji but…you are a content creator promoting a product without showcasing much footage of the different scenarios YOU are saying the camera is good or bad for. Some of the takes that were done with the dji on this video were good! The tips you provided are great. But your inability (on this video)to really display the products potential and application of the tips you are providing has to be highlighted. Again, this is not a slight to your business and body of work and sorry if you’re offended by criticism. Im just thinking about that average costumer who probably purchased this camera and will likely come back to this video only to realize the camera will not fit their needs because not much was displayed. I still didn't finish the video but so far, I really don't know why people keep sticking to 24 or 25 frames per second (also depending on the country they live in while we are uploading videos on KZbin and you can choose whatever you want and forget about your country). A video at 24 frames per second, even though you get that motion blur that for some reason people like, is laggy as hell and barely bearable. It's so annoying to see a video at 24 frame for a second that I really don't get why people should choose that. I would choose 60 frames per second all the time and if you really wanna have some motion bear you could maybe edit in post. But I don't really know why we should keep feeding at 24 or 25 frames per second also in the cinema industry. To be clear, nothing against you personally or nothing against people who like that, is there something I really don't understand as 24 frame per second it's so annoying to my brain that I really can't stand it.
@dylanjohndickersonАй бұрын
No worries! Shoot in whatever frame rate you want. I just find that 24fps looks the best. It’s what my commercial clients want when I make videos for them and it just a standard, so I stick with it. Choose what you like 😊
@I_am_H.Ай бұрын
@ well, thanks. This was a quick reply. But again, it was not a complain about your choice. I really struggle understanding why someone would prefer 24 or 25 against 60 if not for that slightly blurred effect that you mentioned. And of course if a client wants 24 we have to stick with 24, however I would try to convince him to go 60.
@dylanjohndickersonАй бұрын
@@I_am_H. No problem. I'm on KZbin every day. And because 60fps looks like Dad picked up the video camera, for the lack of a better phrase. To me, it feels like I'm watching a crappy soap opera. Clients don't know what they want as far as frame rates, but I can tell you that if you handed over a 60fps video, they'd wonder why it didn't look as good as other corporate/commercial videos they've seen. They won't know why, but they'll know something's off. Sports in a higher frame rate is definitely the call in my opinion though. And maybe KZbin videos or social media content, although I'd stick with 30fps. I tried 30fps out for a few videos and got quite a lot of comments mentioning that it looked crappy so I switched back to 24.

все современные камеры даже с маленьким сенсором легко справляются с ISO 800 и 1600. Что за совет ставить iso400??? лучше снять пусть и с шумом, но снять. Чем тупить и сохранять низкое iso. Короче такой себе специалист
@dylanjohndickerson3 ай бұрын
I disagree. This camera is not a ‘low light monster’. 50-400 is a solid range that will prevent a lot of noise. If you really need your camera to improve its light sensitivity then you can bump the ISO up past 400, but keeping that 50-400 range is a solid starting point. And it’s very nice of you to call me a specialist. Thank you 😘
