To answer your question. I have used Andis and Wahl and JRL. My favourite is Wahl premium.

I’ve never used any type of Andis clippers so don’t have any experience with the purple guards. I’ve been rocking with the wahl premium guards the most of time I’ve been cutting and love them. I had some of the old babyliss guards and they were good but I’m definitely looking forward to getting the new babyliss premium guards

Having both the wahl premium and the babyliss premium if i need to take a lot of with the .5 I use the wahl and I need just a little of I use the babyliss they compliment each other perfectly

the single mag would be better for blades that come with flat screws.

Just enjoyed your description and comparison of the guards, excellent, your opinion really helped me. I have seen andis double magnet guards have more than 7 teeth, am I right. What advantage does having more teeth on the guard have over less teeth.

just think of a comb.. wider teeth is more hair coming through..but no tension.. more teeth is more detailing work

I never knew there as a difference in guard I guess I never paid attention all though I did notice the teeth on the wahl are smaller and thinner which I love I’m currently using the jrl there not bad there just tight you have to press hard and press both ends or they will start rattling

.5 --1.5 wahl guards are nice but it's downhill from there. Andis guards are the best in my opinion

I like thinner gaurds. Wahl used to make a thinner 1/8 gaurd that opened to a 1 1\2 but got a little bit tighter when closed. They stoppped making it. I ordered both gamma dubs and babyloss premium but im starting to think im gonna be dissapointed with them

Was your babyliss guards (0.5-1.5) fit really snug with the wahl clippers or jrl. Like they fit but it’s very snug

I just got the new Babyliss guards a couple of weeks ago. I have to say, I’m very disappointed with them. They are just way too thick for me. They just don’t feel natural up against the clients heads. And it seems like hair get stuck in between the clipper teeth and the blades when I use them. Just can’t get down with them. I just don’t understand why all of these companies don’t make a zero guard like wahl. I think it’s the only zero guard, that really cuts good, and feeds the hair good. All of the other zeros, really don’t do anything🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Try the jrl .5 guard. Also the andis 0 and gamma 0 are very identical the way they cut. They cut a little longer than a wahl .5 but if you know how to use them it actually speeds up the transition to the 1 guard.

These guards only fit the clippers and not the trimmers.. sometimes the trimmers come will small guards for it

I use Oster Clippers and like the Oster Universal clipper guards. They attach to pretty much any of the Oster clippers.With spring loaded clips they definitely stay in place and by all accounts should fit on the new cordless Fast Feeds and Classic 76’s. I find Oster guards stiff. I think the Whal professional clipper guards to be pretty good too except I don’t use Whal adjustable clippers like the Seniors. The Whal guards are well build and more supple, read comfortable for the customer. The guards for the Beretto line seems to be made of the same material as the Whal Universal guards but of course only fit the Whal German made blades. I find the Purple Andis guards, while supple and flexible, are slightly bigger and therefore dont fit tightly on the Oster clipper blades. Thank you for the Review.

I have the andis single magnetig guards with andis uspro li clipper(taper) and I am not satisfied with the result in fades in comparison with wahl guards . The andis guards leaving some lines in your fade.

Anyone else have issue with babyliss guards hitting the fx clipper when zero gapped and lever all the way closed ? That’s the only thing for me they are not too zero gap friendly lol

I know the fx clipper to have some room to push down with your cutting someone .. maybe that could be it.. me personally I wouldn’t completely zero gap them
