Overall i like the dubs better. Especially the updated versions. They made the teeth firmer so they dont bend or rake the client as much. They blend easy and feed hair really well once you get used to the long teeth. Those having trouble with the 0 guard.. you need to use it like a 0 guard not a half guard. 0 guards blend the hair into the 1 guard with little to no lever play and cut more flush than half guards do. It will leave a faint line depending on hair texture or how much of a scoop motion you use when fading. All you have to do is take the guard off and clean it afterward where ever it needs it which is super quick and easy.

yes exactly, it doesnt cut as short as the tight guards, so i take it off and play w the lever open no guard

I honestly think there's a huge difference between the magnetic purple ones from Andis & the magnetic s/c black ones! One of my guards broke after 2 weeks of owning them. They are a really soft, flimsy plastic so I wasn't really surprised.

I got the babyish premium about a month ago, my half guard has a few tips that have broke off already, also they collect and clog up with hair way to easy....

I used both of them and I like double magnetic gamma, Babyliss guard when i use it it's got gap between the guard teeth and the clipper cutting blade and hair always stuck there and it doesn't do bulk the way that I should do

I think stylecraft made the gaurds slightly smaller to compensate for the stretch bracket 🤷‍♂️

Stylecraft guards and babyliss guards are both nice but for the o n 1 n 1 1/2 I use wahl because the Grey o guard and the 1 1/2 white are really on point and after that it doesn't matter to me which other guards I use.

Great review tank! I have both sets. I want to love those Babyliss guards so much… But every time I use them. A bunch of hair just gets clogged up between the teeth. And I feel like I’m constantly going to my air gun, to clean the clipper out. I don’t know if anybody else is having issues with this. They are very durable. But I just feel that they are just a bit too thick for my taste. I’m just so used to the wahl half guards. I feel like the other half guards, just don’t do much🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Would you give up the wall premium for any of these? I’ve tried using the gamma dubs And for some reason they just aren’t making the cut for me, but I have yet to try the baybliss Premiums.

The dubs work so well especially in fine straight hair like blond kids hair wahl leaves lines but the gamma’s hair feed and blend hair great. Wahl still has the best 0 guard imo.

Great review and comparison. I currently have both and just used the dubs for the first time a couple days ago and was surprised how much I liked them. Only issue I had was the zero not being low enough like the Wahl or babyliss zero. Looking forward to using the babyliss premium guards as well soon

Its more like a andis 0 thats why. 0 guards are not the same as half guards. They are made to blend into the 1 guard closed easier and faster. It will usually leave a faint line that you remove with no guard open or slightly closed to complete the blend. Less lever play needed gets right to the point.

@@shechoseme its all technique. A 0 guard closed will blend into a 1 guard closed. You dont even need to open the lever up. Once you connected the lengths together you use no guard and clean up anything it cant grab. Its a fast efficient way to blend and get to the detailing faster. Half guards require more lever play and still a lot of times force you to go back with no guard to clean it up. The most important part of every haircut is the detailing part. You want to get to that part quickly and efficiently to not waste time so you can get to the real part of the haircut.

@@Mike-hy8cs let’s say I’m doing a fade .. I go clippers close, open no guard, then 1 open… where does this 0 guard fit in between I usually switch to thr thr. Wahl 0.5 guard .. I didn’t know how to use the sc 0 guard since it’s so big

The 0 guard in gamma / SC GUARD is the equivalent to 1/2 wahl guard if you look at the millimeters on both they have the same specs
