I was just scrolling through to ask the exact same question Any response yet mate?
@yn3ssАй бұрын
@@kerynwoods6068 No response yet, but as best I can tell, the 4030 v2 seems a little more appealing to me for only a little bit more $$$. Closed loop NEMA23 steppers vs open loop NEMA17 on the promax. Slightly better stepper controllers on the proverxl. Max speed 5000mm/m vs 2000mm/m on the promax. Ball screws vs lead screws on the promax. 110mm Z height vs 78mm on the promax. I won't miss the extra 100mm Y on the promax. 0.05 and 0.02mm accuracy vs 0.1mm on the promax. Hybrid spoilboard on the proverxl. I just wish the proverxl came with the 710w spindle and linear rails. Though I might just upgrade to an even more powerful spindle and see if I can fit the linear rails diy style. I'm also looking at the NymoLabs NBS-6040 - it's got everything I want, but it's an extra $1000 :(

James, thank you for your videos. I always enjoy your content. You keep stating in multiple videos that the machines are not primarily for cutting metal. Well, which hobby-level machine would be good for that? I have been using the AnoleX 3030-Evo Pro to cut aluminum and brass with great success. I am more interested in functional parts than decorative items. If I needed something the strength of wood, I’d 3D print it out of plastic. Thus, metal cutting is the only reason I need a CNC. I would love to see your review of the best machine for cutting metal for under $1,000.

I was looking at this machine for some time now. Sainsmart ended some emails and info about this and it would be nice to have one. Very nice video and very well explained! I have a questions though. It would be very nice to see a normal speed video of this machine working on a project. In this way we can understand the speeds it can go to and if this is something that one would invest. Great video. Do you reckon it's better than the Foxalien Masuter 3S? Would the smaller NEMA 17 motors with the lead screw be as strong as the NEMA 23 closed loop motors with the belt driven system on the foxalien?
@yvan2563Ай бұрын
1. There's probably really weak NEMA23 and extremely powerful NEMA17 steppers that could prove me wrong, but NEMA23 is usually stronger than NEMA17. 2. Closed loop is better, but unless you push the machine too hard your steppers shouldn't be losing steps. 3. Ballscrews are better than leadscrews, which are better than belts. There's also different types of racks and pinions, which I have read are usually better for larger CNCs in order to avoid ballscrew/leadscrew whipping. While I think belts are fine for smaller and cheaper machines, at those prices and the size of the machines I'd pick the Genmitsu 4040 Pro Max simply because it's not using belts.

This is all to do with software. You crate your design, tell the software what CNC bits you want to use and the software does all the hard work in creating all the code for your CNC machine

Excellent review - very happy to subscribe to your channel 👏 I would be hugely grateful if you could offer some quick advice that I won't hold you to later ;) I was about to pull the trigger on the Twotrees 450 PRO as my first foray into the hobby CNC world when I started seeing reviews of the Genmitsu 4040 Pro Max and I am now wondering if this wouldn't actually be a better choice for me? The rigidity of the Z gantry plus the more powerful spindle have caught my attention. The slightly smaller working area not so much. Do you have any experience with the TT450? Which would you recommend - The Genmitsu 4040 or TTC 450? (purchase price is not the primary concern here) My "shopping list" :) is: 1. Must be reasonably good quality for occasional hobby usage (no selling of work here :) ) 2. I care about the quality and precision of the final carve 3. cut through 18-24mm wood and MDF. I would also probably use to make 6-9mm templates for router work. 4. be able to cut out, engrave and do relief carving 5. Preferably have the option to add a laser module in the future (thinking in the 20-30W territory) 6. I am retirement age (that came quick! :)) and reasonably literate with using software and consumer tech etc but definitely want something where I don't have to work too hard to learn to use it. Zero interest in learning code, programming etc etc. Massively grateful if you find the time to help! And greetings form Warsaw, Poland 👋

All I care about cutting is aluminum and brass. So you say its not the machine for me, but why not if it can do it? And why has this company not focussed in on that market since its obviously what every reviewer focuses on if it is or is not capable of doing?
@JamesDeanDesignsАй бұрын
I suppose it's like going yes your car can do 150mph but you're not going to do that all of the time because it would probably harm the engine. Similar thing here. First, it would probably burn the router out pretty quick, and second, whilst it can machine metal you will get better results on a dedicated metal mill because it is likely to be stronger frame.
@ibreakstuff815Ай бұрын
@@JamesDeanDesigns So, the spindle running at high speed is the problem? Does it not run at high speed for other non metal materials?
@JamesDeanDesignsАй бұрын
@ibreakstuff815 not so much the speed. The router is a brushed motor and those brushes wear down quicker when the motor is put under more pressure like when machining metal. And also things like the bearing in a router probably are not to the same spec as something like a brushless spindle
