Kept me warm in East-Central Iowa in -11⁰F one night. Have two of em. The US Military uses them and loves em. Make sure you have a good ground pad or two to prevent conduction as well. This is the best cold weather sleeping bag made. Works in all cimates. It has layers that help you change based on temperature needs. I suggest using a good balaclava and making sure your breath doesn't go into the bag as you sleep. I agree with the dry bag for storage. Isn't as small as many bags when packed but it is instant shelter. Highly recommend em.

One note is mine is made by Tennier Ind. here in states (TN), not China.

Go with the milsurp compression bag they're cheap, also the USMC seal line dry bags with the valve work really well for these. It's hard to get the air out of a regular dry bag if you need to compress it down, the seal line dry bag allows air to exit the dry bag thru the valve while not allowing air back in the dry bag. Also adding a woobie and/or a sleeping bag liner is an easy lightweight way to add extra insulation if needed. The milsurp bag is awesome, and im sure this one is too. Can't beat that price as long as it's comparable to the milsurp. Thanks for showing! 👍

Even though I’ve upgraded over the years to lighter more packable stuff, I always hold on to my MSS as a backup or buddy setup. Also being able to pick in choose each individual part for the specific environment is nice

I have a true military surplus, tertiary bag system and it’s great. I’ve never slept cold in it. I usually only need the black bag for the kind of camping I do, but one night I wanted to try the full system at extreme temps. I slept outside on my deck at -12 and did not get cold. The moisture from my breathing froze in a sheet on the outer edge, but I remained warm.

Awesome system. I’ve used it to sleep in anything from 20 to 65 degrees

Im going to have to check this out being a Texan. I don't need the super cold ability often, but when you need it, you need it. I like this all in one wet/dry bag.

Probably the best price I’ve seen in years, I got mine off Amazon about 13 years ago for 100 bucks

I just got an authentic full set off of eBay not too long ago for $150, I don't think it had ever been used once if at all and it's the M81 woodland. 😍

What was the ground mat you used that folded like an accordion? That seemed like a must have to go with this sleeping system.

I think I saw a therma-rest logo on the top of it, they are one of the most popular brands and everyone that does lightweight backpacking seems to love them. Looks like it's the Z lite model sleeping pad.

So it’s “Military Style”, not issued. That terminology is concerning.

I have checked this out on Midway comments - the stuff sack failure is a common comment. My concern is will this be too small for me, I’m 5’ 10” and 250 #, wear a size 2 XL jacket. If any one around my size have tired this out and let me know.

Special forces use poncho-like sleeping bags. They allow to stand up and fight instantly.
