Hi Cat! I did this hack the other day - saw it on the same YT channels you did, so I purchased both the Aquaphor balm and also the powder Scott Barnes recommended - the Maybelline Super Stay powder foundation. So first - I am older (68) and have very dry skin under my eyes and a more crepey texture. I always struggle with concealer - not so much creasing, but looking dry and accentuating that texture. I also use the same Saie concealer you did, which I am loving because it is SO smooth and hydrating. (I literally have not touched any of my other concealers since buying the Saie one - I think it's that good!) Anyway, for the hack itself - I did like how hydrated my under eyes felt using the lip balm. I thought the concealer applied smoothly and as much as I would never use a powder foundation (my skin is much too dry), I applied just a touch to set everything (just under my eyes) using a brush and a tiny amount of the product. For awhile I thought it looked really nice - fairly smooth, no settling, not very dry looking. But....a few hours later, my under eyes looked very, very dry and had almost a white cast going on. I can't say whether it was due to the powder foundation, even though the color match was a good one and I used very little of it. I plan to try this hack using my regular Elf Halo Glow loose powder and see if I get better results. I guess my final verdict on the hack is mixed - it felt nice, initially looked very good, didn't experience creasing - but in the longer term, my under eye area looked super dry. Hi Cat, yep, so many content creators are doing this Aquaphor hack. As an occlusive, it seems like it wouldn’t work well under concealer, but guess it does. My understanding is that eyes are so dehydrated and dry, I am going to go and purchase it and give it a try. Thank you for such a great review of this hack.

I use the Aquaphor that comes in the tube all over my face when it’s super dry, including my eye area . I tried it under my color corrector and concealer. I am shocked at how good it looked and held up throughout the day.

I use aquaphor in the little tub the stick balm pulls the skin too much! I also use it on my eye brows to keep them smooth in place 😊

Hi Cat….great to have you back! How was vacay? This is an interesting hack and I’m sure many will be trying this out. I love the Clarins lip oil you used….what a pretty color. I caved and bought the Dior lavender blush. I have to say I love it!! It’s subtle yet buildable and I’ve been reaching for it everyday. Cat, I just started using the aquaphor about a week ago. It has really made a difference on my under eyes. I had one day when my eyes didn’t look so great but I thought it maybe had to do with my eyes being extra puffy that day. But today they looked fantastic!

I have the Danessa Myricks colourless eye primer that feels slippy. I’ve been using it to see if it works on the undereye as well as the lids. I am not sure if it is the same consistency as the Aquaphor (we don’t have that brand here I don’t think 🤔🇦🇺) and I already had the DM primer. I have also tried just straight Vaseline jelly and I love that in the under eye area, especially as a last step over all other night time skincare. It’s winter here now and my skin is the driest I’ve ever seen it! Love your vids dear Cat. Have a wonderful day.

I consistently use la Roche Posse cicaplast gel for the undereye to prevent creasing. It works well! I've tried this hack, but it doesn't consistently work for me.

Like you, I don't have much "texture" under my eyes either but I decided to try this nonetheless. The Aquafour irritated my eyes so I'm back to using it on my lips. I lean towards dryer skin so the Maybelline powder is not something I would normally purchase because it's matte and a foundation powder, however, when it's super hot outside I am using just the lightest slightest touch of that powder to set my concealer and have it last longer and I'm pleased with how it looks. I'll go back to my regular lighter-weight powder when the weather cools down again. So, not a total loss for me and no waste of products. 👍

I’m not sure how many aquafor videos there are now so will try too! I bought it before all these videos from Amazon when I saw it recommended, and I noticed it had avocado oil and not too many other ingredients. Any time my hair is super dry, nothing works better than avocado ingredients so I’m sure this is great for skin moisture as long as it doesn’t cause products to sink in or slide around. Products just sort of vanish on me lol…especially things like eye shadow which I’ve never tried to make work.

I would save this lip balm hack for special occasions only. Because the formula is so rich and "waxy" it will cause mila (the little white dots) that are difficult to remove or rectify. Many of KZbinrs who initially did positive reviews are now going back to add in comments advising of this.

Just as an FYI, this did not work for me. The aquaphor is too thick and sticky. I used Bee Naturals Queen Bee Peeper Keeper Eye Balm it is much more emollient and smooth. It works beautifully. I’m 63 by the way.
