@@austrianpenguin have you seen season 2 ? I really didn’t like season 1 at tall. Slow quirky, and that romance, if you can call it that, died after episode 5. Season 2 appears to be Chris Van Duane’s love letter to all romcoms he has ever cherished. It’s pretty tight and the chemistry. Whew! Those 2 made romance movie history! I do even like romance novels and period pieces at tall.

Yes but he's a teenager at that point and they don't really see those things yet. Love is also physical attraction and it takes maturity to admit that you also need to physically fancy the person you're with. Also, the girl here is just a side quest, his main love story is someone else

The man showing their feelings first validates the fact that they're able to convey real, raw emotion and not give in to toxic masculinity and validate that the insecurities that women most of the time first, are false and that they are worth it and that the relationship is worth it. The woman doesn't have to do every basic thing for it to be powerful. Showing that the man is willing to break down his walls emotionally already shows the audience what a powerful impact the woman has on him. 🤷‍♀️
