When I was a kid [and I'm nearly 60 now], an old woman who owned rental houses around our town had an electric mower she used for all her properties. It looked liked a kid's mower with a coffee can on top, but I never saw her have any trouble out of it--not ever. In the meantime, my poor dad was working on our discount gas powered mowers almost constantly. I decided that I would have an electric mower for my first home. So, true to my word, I picked up a used Black & Decker corded mower at a pawn shop for about $100. That sucker lasted ten years, plus however old it was when I bought it. By that time I was married, and my wife and I bought a brand new electric B&D corded mower from Walmart for about $180. My wife lasted ten more years, but the mower just crapped out last weekend at nearly 20 years of service [outlasting the wife by 10]. I just bought my third corded mower, which is the model shown here, for $201 new on ebay [since Jeff Bezos and his Amazon liberals all suck]. If I get 20 years out of this one, I'll probably never need another one. One word of advice for the smart alecks below whining about no battery--the whole point of this mower is that you're not contracted with B&D and Lowes to sell you a new battery every few months. Just plug the thing in and go. The cord is a little worrisome at first, and you'll probably hit it once in a while, but I'm used to it, and think I've only hit a cord two or three times in thirty years. Three cords is much cheaper than a battery every six months, and I can usually patch them back, anyway. As for this review, I would have liked to have seen the rest of the assembly, and especially how the grass bag attaches, since my others didn't have the bag feature. That's really what I wanted to see when I stopped to watch; the rest was more-or-less a waste of time--just chatter. Anyway, there's my two bits. Hope it helps--

Thanks for sharing your experience over the last decades with an electric corded lawn mower. My reason for corded was the exact same reason you had. I'm not interested in new batteries every few months. Sorry I forgot to cover how to install the bag, but I just don't use the bag that much because my grass gets pretty long before I cut it and it would take too much time to keep dumping it. Here's a follow up video that I did that you might find interesting: kzbin.info/www/bejne/emO0pmibl9CHfNk

Did you have an issue with the recoil in the handle? Thx

Don't hate me, but you can buy the same mower through Lowe's for over $60 less than the same thing on Amazon. That's even with the Prime discount.

Really? I didn’t see this one last time I was at Lowe’s.

Jeff Bezos and the Amazon liberals all stink. I got mine for $201 on ebay, three-day shipping included.

I mow at a 5 or 6 which is best for KBG/PRG and chokes out weeds, especially POA Annua. I also had the Kobalt and looking for a 13 amp corded 20 inch wide and I'm interested in this one. Will check out your updated review.

Me too. unless you are not using the bag and your grass is wet. Then it clumps up around the blade. I need to shoot a follow up review about it and my "remedy" for it.

Motor burned out within the first 6 months. Repaired under warranty and 3 years later, after very light use the motor burned out again. Never used it in deep grass or ran it for too long so I do not recommend this mower.

My last B&D mower just burned out after 20 years. I got ten on the first one, and it was used when I bought it. I guess there are lemons everywhere, including on CNN. I just bought the one above for replacement. I hope I have better luck than you did, Mark.

no batteries.
@ernestcossiboom25124 жыл бұрын
That's the whole point of the corded mowers. They're a little more trouble getting used to dragging a cord around and not running it over, but you don't have to buy a new battery every month. My last B&D mower just crapped out at nearly 20 years of service.

There honestly really wasn’t much to set up. Is there something that you’re having trouble with? Maybe I can
