SW Companion Pass offer is great if you plan on taking your family along. For hotels, either stick w/ Hyatt or add Marriott if you can get value.

Just got mine in last September and got booked 2 nights at Sheraton in Hiroshima and 3 the W in Osaka + 15K Marriott points that I got from the bonus spend saving me around $2,000, about 40% return on spend! I'm a corporate traveler. I have a delta reserve and platinum and exclusively fly Delta since the company I work for has contract with them. However the Southwest card with the companion pass is very temping. I'm not sure I'm ready to switch airlines though as I do like Delta's customer service. I'm also not sure how often if be able to take family with me on trips as I have two children under 5. Might be worth it to save my points and fly them 1st class and really give them a good experience. Ugh, decisions decisions.

Hi! I don’t have a ton of experience with either. I transferred points from chase to stay at a Hyatt location in Sweden and I was excited to pick up the world of Hyatt card. Mostly this will be used for one off staycations near where I live. Hyatt doesn’t have as big a presence internationally, which is why folks lean towards Marriott Bonvoy for more options abroad. With the elevated offer though, the Bonvoy Boundless is a good one to take advantage of. Just consider what your needs would be and check out some of their locations online to decide, but both seem like decent value. Sorry for the ramble lol.

The free night from Hyatt is worth more. The bonus from Marriott is worth more. At the end of the date, it depends on what your situation is. I travel for work and stay at Marriotts usually, so Marriott is my keeper, even though I like Hyatt better

The United Explorer gets you two passes to the United lounge. The United Club and United Club Business get you the full club membership, but only for the primary cardholder.

As for player two traveling by themselves, it might be easier for them to get their own United Explorer card. That’s what my wife did in order to maximize our welcome bonus and also get her a pair of club passes. We mostly travel together so it is not a big deal.
