My husband's grandmother gifted me 3 sets of these potholders back when I was first married in 1977. I asked her many times how they were made and never got a straight answer. I used hers for many years but they were in really odd colors and I wanted some that matched the colors in my kitchen. Finally a little over 10 years ago I stumbled across the pattern on the internet and was finally able to make the colors I wanted. I must tell you that even after almost 40 years the potholders my grandmother-in-law made still were not worn out even though I used them every day. She made them using Red Heart acrylic yarn. I do like your instructions, Tiffany. The pattern I have isn't really clear about how to get the right size and shape. Thank you. I'll be making more now.

My dear friend made these all the time. She planned to teach me but passed away sooner than we expected. Thank you for showing us how. I will make many and think of Sue.❤❤❤

I too have made these for years. I also add heatproof insulation inside making it thicker and more resilient to heat.

What a great idea adding the insulation! Thanks for commenting and sharing this addition! 🤗💖🧶

I have been making this type of pot holder for years. I am running out of family and friends to gift them to. I like using Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn cotton. They have a nice variety of colors both solid and verigated. After crocheting an afghan, I like to make several before starting my next afghan. I enjoy all your videos!! 😊

Awe! Thank you so much! I love that you brought up that you like making these projects after completing a larger project such as a blanket. It's great to slip in a few of those quick projects between big ones to maintain your passion for crochet. Thanks for mentioning that! 🤗💖🧶
