I ran in the 1080 v12 spring and summer ; the midsole foam really wore out after 150-200 miles for me felt like a shoe that didn’t last as long as some similar models. But as 6’1 “ 200 lb runner I am considered large by running standards; I got the novablast 3 trail version now and so far so good. Cannot comment on longevity but it is a nice cushioned daily trainer more bouncy and cushioned than 1080. The novablast trail is appreciated on the wet leaves covering the gravel trails I use near my house :-)

@gorohit2 жыл бұрын
Super interesting breakdown! Especially because of the additional stats that you've provided. I have one suggestion though - especially in case of the daily trainers / max cushion ones. One thing that I've noticed is that even your slow / casual pace is VERY fast compared to the many of us - or at least me ;) You are very fit, and your build is also comparatively slim. How you feel / percieve a shoe is definitely different than what a slow, casual, and probably heavier runner (like me) feels about a shoe. Case in point - Hoka Mach 4 - which was LOVED by many a reviewers, but when I tried it, I felt it to be relatively unresponsive. So would it be possible to collaborate with a runner who's may be at the other end of the spectrum than you in terms of build/speed etc. once in a while, and incorporate their findings in your reviews? Don't take it in a wrong way. I love your reviews, but this may give the reviews an additional dimension along with the stats. Cheers!
@bev97082 жыл бұрын
Interesting point. I'm only 53kg and also a slow runner and I too found the Mach 4 relatively unresponsive... and yet one night I did two 5km PBs in a row in them... I think they are really made for faster runners, yes!! I found no love for the NB1080 until after about 50-60km in them and suddenly started to love them at my slow paces. Sooo many people have recommended the Cloud Monster to me but I've a feeling that heavier people than me really like that one ... have you tried it by chance?
@gorohit2 жыл бұрын
@@bev9708 haven't tried the cloud monster yet. Though I recently tried the velocity nitro 2, and Clifton 8, and I loved both of them! Novablast 3 is on my mind as well. I liked version 1, which is still in good shape. I hope version 3 won't disappoint me.
@bev97082 жыл бұрын
@@gorohit Ohh we really have similar taste... the Clifton is still my all time favourite shoe, like spending time with an old best friend. I do like the Bondi too, but not quite as much. I put 1000km on the original Novablast and they STILL feel like balm to sore legs... I'm thinking of snaggling another pair of them rather than the V3 or 2! And I only hear great things about the Velocity Nitro and so reasonably priced too!!

Rohit! Your comments packs a ton of value. So first thank you. The first thing that comes to mind is to encourage you to read the reviews on meta-endurance.com - we now have a team of testers and although none fits exactly the description you're making, it's more diverse than just me ;-) The second point is that paces don't really matter...what matters is the biomechanics at a certain pace compared to your baseline/threshold. What i'm trying to say is that we can compare my easy and your easy although the paces are not the same. Hope this makes sense. Thanks again for your continued support

I currently have three of these in rotation - the Novablast 3, Mach 5, and 1080v12, but I use the 1080v12 as more of an easy/recovery run shoe than daily trainer. Great question. From Saucony nothing was fitting here. The triumph would have been a good candidate but the shoe does not work for me… Puma has the velocity 2 which i sadly haven’t tried. I think it could have been featured here

@@AlexFilittiThanks for the great video review btw! I was cautiously optimistic about the Novablast 3 and I'm in the camp that it's the best non-plated daily trainer in 2022. It's a significant upgrade to version 2. It's lighter and bouncier and I look forward to putting it on for a daily run
