Thank you! All this time I was only using charged shots and the power shot that you can chain with it. I never thought to use the uncharged shot to build up that combo damage

It has come to my attention that there are 5 arrows on the 3rd shot in the 2nd combo, which means the second combo of 17 arrows (actually 19 with the 2 extra added) does: 709dmg (non-crit) to 997dmg (all crit). Dumb me didn't see it through the hours of editing, and I was simply just not standing close enough when getting that third hit off. So, IF YOU'RE CLOSE ENOUGH; 5 arrows will hit the monster. Meaning that you do more damage with the second combo than the first one (even over time), if you were to spam that into a monster. You also save more coatings this way. I apologize for my ignorance, but at least now you have the answer. The REAL answer.

An error, the third shot of the ORORO combo, which is the second spread shot, has 5 arrows instead of 3. Still amazing video though. I was wandering why I don't see any speed runners using the OORO combo now, despite it being the mathmatically optimal combo. So I re-exam this video, and I think that's why.

Dunno if anyone even noticed this, but the math for the damage at 7:16 is wrong. 525 (NC) x 4 (rotations) = 2,100 735 (AC) x 4 (rotations) = 2,950 Which is more than the 2nd combo. I don't read comments lol. And just about to start using Bow. Great video anyway!

Yep, got that. After a bit more practice: I *think* I was just being impatient or imagining things. I usually use R2 > R2 > R2 > O which isn't as damaging, but flows together really smoothly and threw off my timing for your combo.

Perhaps you didn't have Bow Charge + jewel on? What i notice is that every Bow mains always aims to get this jewel, since it'll add 1 more charge to your bow, further extended the combo and damage output

If MHW would allow me to assign dash to L1 and power shots to R1... that'd be great. Those split seconds where you have to take your thumb off of the right stick, which causes you to momentarily stop aiming, to dash or power shot can make the difference between arrows landing or not landing.

R2 is a normal shot. It always comes out as one. It probably doesn't come out as it comes out a bit slower, just hold the trigger until you're about to release and you should be good

Even for someone without Bow Charge Plus my DPS went up significantly. If I wanted to gap close, it'd be dash Circle R2 circle yeah? Or even dash dash R2 Circle?

I personally thinck that the combo of jumping of a wall is the one taht does more damage and can be repeated infintitly. The only problem is that is very difficult to aim

It's the most dmg yes, but you can't do that anywhere. It's not really hard to aim either, at least not in my opinion. Check out my Nergigante Bow Speedrun

Haven't really gotten around to a new DP build yet as I still need 1 special ammo boost jewel to make a good one. I do however have a build video for DP which currently is very viable though. You should check that out

Also, in terms of damage. You usually kill things faster with elemental bow builds. But I wouldn't say it's as much satisfaction in playing those builds over getting the incredible hits with a DP build.

I'm an avid well practiced bow user and I frequently am able to keep monsters stun locked by spamming the spike ball bags but no one seems to talk about that strategy...for example vaal hazak I can pretty much keep on the ground by spamming those combos a few seconds but then raining a couple of ball sacks on his head before he fully gets back up. Am I bowing wrong?

Am I being silly or does combo 2 not work on the PC version? This part comes out alright: O > R2 > O But when I go into the second charged shot it's lost all it's charge. Is it somehow dependent on decorations? Ohhh, also. Could you do a budget build for bow or some of the other weapons? I'm in that zone where I've killed some tempered elder dragons, but haven't found most/any of the rare decorations

I think that's the flaw of this video. He has Bow Charge Plus, which charges your shots by one level extra. His base normal shot, is charged by one.

What would you say is what increase the most damage to your arrows? I use bow since forever, finished the game with it and am in HR 42, but I can't stop feeling wear with the bow. Never got a crit that hitted 40 damage. (Btw, have the same deviljho weapon)
