Wales has really upped their game when it comes to bike parks. Often slightly better weather than up in the land of the Scots. Cwm Carn in South Wales is good too, not far from Bike Park Wales.

How long have these bike parks been around in Wales? I imagine there's a generation of young Welsh riders that have grown up with regular riding on amazing trails & parks right on their doorstep that will all mature into fully fledged pros taking over the whole scene at some point in the near future...

@@ManWalksDogs They've been around for a good 15-20 years or so, but most have been vastly improved in the last 3 to 5 years. What's weirdly lacking is Welsh talent in elite mountain biking. Lots of English talent, yet there's no decent bike parks at all in England.

With well-off families able to provide the best gear and travel, accomodation, race entry fees & licences etc to send their son up & down the country & around Europe to qualifying events etc. Real shame if so.

@@ManWalksDogs It gets expensive once you start going international but it's not as bad as a lot of sports. Think you can enter the British Winter Series for £40. That's just one tier below National level in downhill in the UK. Helps a lot if you live in Scotland or Wales though, it's a huge amount of travelling if you're in England as I don't think there's a single national event in England at the moment, lots of Winter Series events in England though, particularly in the South West with Gawton (Devon), Tavi Woodlands (Devon), UK Bike Park in Okeford (Dorset), Windhill at Longleat (Wiltshire), Tidworth (near Stonehenge) and Combe Sydenham (Somerset). A lot of these are what places like Bike Park Wales and Dyfi Bike Park (both in Wales) used to be like before being vastly upgraded.
