That Glassmen solo is marked as 1998...I could swear it was 1999. Nonetheless, that is probably the most difficult melody I have ever heard in DCI.

Every DCI solo compilation should have some Barbara Maroney. Garfield 83 and 84 mellophone. THE model mellophone sound to this day for me.

There is absolutely no way you can have this without John Shipper Madison Scouts 95&96 or the Bridgemen 1978 "Spanish Dreams" soloist. They blow any of these fools out of the water!

It's a shame that video from some of the non-finalist corps isn't readily available outside of FanNetwork. A lot of DCI's and drum corps best solos happened in corps that ended their season in positions 13th and lower.

I appreciate the video. I think about this all the time and it's impossible for me to decide which solos are the best. Even if I do it by decade or by single corps. BD has a crapload of great soloists throughout the years and you could make a video of just them. It's obvious to me, though, that you've never seen the 2010 Bluecoats!

Thanks for including bari solo's (but how could you leave out the best ever bari soloist from 1983 BD's ELTB) in you list and I know that everyone has their opinion, but I'll guess that your probably 20 years younger than me, so rather than criticise, I'll recommend that you listen to maybe some 1975 Muchacos, 1978 Bridgemen, and highly recommend listening to 1980 & 1981 Blue Devils. I still think Larry Datstrup is still, to this day, the top of the heap when it comes to soloist.

Where's that one solo by that guy in that corp back in a year that had an apostrophe and two numbers after it? That was the best soprano/melo/bari/contra/glockenspiel solo ever to be played in a stadium/football field/parking lot/bus. I am HIGHLY disappointed..

Enjoyed it, nice work. The BEST in history??? You only used 1 decade. Try Muchachos 1974, Cavaliers 75, North Star 82, 84. The 70,s and 80's are full of unreal solos on BUGLES!!! This not a cut on your soloists...just advising you to take a look...it's worth it!
