Bought an Ambiano Midi 12L the other day from Aldi. At £90, it more than does the job it was bought for. In removing the humidity from the bathroom (eg after showering), the condensation's cleared up nicely throughout the house. Would highly recommend.

Did you move it around house or leave it in bathroom and for how long did you leave it on?
@NeilMalthusАй бұрын
@@TeeTee-zm2re It's case by case, isn't it! Winter time, air is supposedly drier. But if you don't have a tumble drier it pays to hang your washing inside. Are you drying just underwear or lots of denim and towels etc? Is your house on the cold side? If this is you, you'll probably need to leave it on 24 hours for a couple of days (and as close to the washing as possible). I imagine its's still cheaper than going to the laundrette and paying to use their driers. So to answer your question, I personally don't move mine around the house though it would be very easy to do so, so long as you're of average adult health. We leave ours near the shower and run it around 6 hours a day. It saves us opening windows and letting all the heat out. (I'm under the impression it costs around 10 pence / hour to run but I'm not sure where I got that figure from - if that's close to accurate, I'd say it's great value for money.)

It automatically switches off at desired humidity level that is easy to set on the LED panel ("run it around 6 hours a day").

So will the compressor types work in a conservatory in the winter ?
@robbopoolman76922 ай бұрын
No. Unless you maybe get a meaco 20 or 25 L. They will work in temps lower than 10 degrees. They cost upwards of £270 Otherwise get the DDL8 Zambezi junior. It’s a desiccant but still low energy and doesn’t need to be on all the time. It will also heat. And it only costs £160 it’s a no brainer.

I am looking for a dehumidifier for the basement and looking for a continuous drainage system. I assume all the examples here the continuous drainage systems are gravity fed. My problem is that the drain is higher that the device so would need activelt pushing waste water up about 6 feet. Any suggestions.

I worked with a heating engineer some years ago and we fitted the boiler in a basement which required a pump such as you need to push the condensate up about 9 feet to a drain, so try a plumbers merchant or research condensate pump.

You could place the dehumidifier on a table or some other raised platform,.

Which one to consider just for 1 wall in the room

I would agree for three bed house 15L is good. I have 10L in three bed and it is not powerful enough and stays on all day trying to get to 55%.

The most important buying factor to consider is the temperature of the room you want to dry out. Compressor dehumidifiers work best at 20-30°C. Here in the UK you may be better off getting a dessicant dehumidifier as these work efficiently at temperatures as low as 1°C.

I'm in the UK have you got any brand recommendations, the market seems like a mine field and alot of the brands iv never heard of
@nforne Жыл бұрын
@@dualtrondreamteam6811 They're expensive but I just bought a Meaco Zambezi and am very pleased with it. It’s extracting about 4 to 5 litres a day when not on the high setting (my house is old and damp). Laundry mode is very good and dries clothes quickly. Haven't had any condensation on the windows so far. There's a website that sells them with an extra year's warranty, I called Meaco to confirm they're legit and bought from there. meacodehumidifiers. The only negative so far, besides the cost, is that the controls aren't particularly user friendly. Would be nice to have an app at that price. It looks like this model has been around for quite a while and most people seem happy with it. The company seems to be good at handling warranty repairs. You can tell I did my homework lol.
