Usefulness of some gods changes depending on factions. I also vastly disagree on Isis. She carried me as Seti on Legendary. The growth is arguably the most important stat to prioritise, desert attrition immunity is important (better than waystation as it works in enemy territory) and happiness bonus is so big i didnt need to build any happiness buildings. Went for Aten legacy and combined Isis with Osiris allowing me to use Seti's rabble troops with huge casualties every fight however the replenishment bonus from Osiris allowed me for one-two turn replenishment. Broken. I ran my entire campaign on food deficit because i was able to keep the conquest going and constantly expand in various multiple directions while maintaining defensive armies aimed at sea people and sand people, which were made up of cheap but buffed units which replenished within a turn and could take on invading horde after horde. if your faction has good happiness buildings (like Ramesses) then you can opt in for combat bonuses. Same if your faction has replenishment bonuses from special buildings and general abilities; you can go for more combat bonuses and wont suffer as much casualties. Melee defense and missile resistance for Medjay is good, the replenishment bonus from shrine wont be as beneficial as it was for Seti's garbage levy units. Also missile infantry in Pharaoh is much less significant thsn other total war games; the game's combat triangle got completely reworked and some ranged+shields(axes)+ 2 spears are best for optimising auto resolve. In actual battles you are better off with shielded axes for frontline and good lot of two handed axe flankers (or clubs if army is armored).

As Tausret, I did an Aten as Isis + Horus. It's not the _strongest_ combo (I only kept Isis for convenience's sake; if I'd had free pick of the gods or was playing Ramesses, I would have gone for Yamm/Horus), and the desert attrition is redundant, but it means I have a happiness shrine in every province (and Tausret really needs happiness bonuses), as well as Horus letting my troops regularly abuse amphetamines to go from one end of Egypt to another in a couple turns, while turning the ground to mud under the Sea People when they come knocking. In general, I'm not looking for bonuses to tactical combat in this edition of Total War, because I win the Tausret way. Bigger economy = more top tier armies = enemies crushed under the weight of my forces. So that causes me to lean against your tier settings that favor devoted generals with heavily buffed armies, but when I play Irsu or a Hittite I might try something more like your S-tiers.

I feel Horus is almost always a good pick for Egyptian factions because the ability to slingshot your army from one side of desert to the other is extremely powerful. The other however I often end up choosing Ra or Osiris for +9/+6 defense on recruitment maybe except Amenmasse who focuses on archers and I've yet to play. If you combine Ra and Osiris for Aten you get +15 melee defense on recruitment and will make the troops from your recruit province utterly unstoppable. Imo for recruitment sake shrine bonus is more important because they are always active for all generals.

Where would you put the new gods on this list? I feel like Marduk should be S-tier: Reducing food upkeep with prayer and increasing food production with shrines are massive buffs!

does shrine buffs stack? also Zeus has missile dmg + for his devoted but then it saids units like javelin was wondering if you know if it buffs bows as well? thank you!

yep the buffs stack! unless the devoted general buss says "Ranged Units" that would cover all ranged units. If it specifies a unit type like javs it only effects those

I don’t know why you prioritize influence gods to happiness ones. Influence is such a lategame thing unless you play amenmesse and rameses. Firstly, you tend to conquer your realm first where you dont have influence issues by default. Secondly, game is about snowball and that’s where happiness comes in. You have positive happiness that itself gives you enough workforce. Long story short happiness>workforce>influence. Melee units>range units>chariots. Therefore, melee buffs are better than range which are better than charge bonuses. Range units are weak in this game and rarely leaders have good high tear range units. Summing up, Thoth, Yamm, Arinna belong to S tier, Ptah is B, Set is D. Other gods somewher inbetween having those with charge bonus lower tier contrary to melee bonuses. Set is S tear only for Amenmesse, but to get it to need to get either akhenaten legacy and take akhetaten, or go to war with very far away factions.

Do not even know where to begin disagreeing: every god with a happiness bonus in shrines easily saves your province 2-4 building slots to be used on resources instead, the melee Defence buff on recruitment stacks per shrine, meaning you can double most early game units‘ melee Defence easily (+10-20) which is further multiplied with percentage melee Defence buffs. All shrines that debuff the enemy units are utterly useless when playing above normal difficulty. Shaushka being A tier when moloch is S tier is just wrong, shaushka gives far better buffs in damage and speed, only lacking behind some in the shrines and the missile resistance of -7% to be put in numbers is 3-5 less missle damage per arrow, making little to no difference.

Sorry, not sorry. Isis is easily S tier, especially if you are near a desert or playing as Seti. Growth bonus is immense and so is happiness as his faction doesn't have any happiness buildings. Isis is absolutely broke when combined with something else through Aten.

Can you stack shrine on recruitment bonuses?! I.e. Get extra 9 melee defense on recruitment by having 3 shrines to Ra in a province? or even 12 if u have four.
