My warships buddies scoff at using Sims inspiration, but it is a much higher % increase for a DD and can help you survive a duel with another DD. I’m a convert!

I put Bey on all my DDs, excluding the Russian line before Tashkent. It’s an awesome boost.

not using bey on a dd is a sin. Most should also be running swirsky especially the torp boats.

Benham is my favorite ship (more than 1million xp). I'm chasing dds and bases and if i have a good opportunity im sending torps to the bbs. I'm playing gunboat style with almost every dd in the game. Now i have Halsey but after that video i'm going to change to Gleaves.

I understand the argument for Sims, but lately I have noticed I get spot by other DDs who I can only Locate. Their concealment is under 5km, and if it's a normal side vs side engagement I get blown up by their teammates before I can spot them. There is a very serious argument for using Swirski and Bey.

Most torpedo boats have a small spotting range advantage. The main strategy for a torpedo boat dealing with gun boats like the Benham is to spot them for your team mates to destroy while maintaining concealment.

The Benham seems to cope a lot of flack but i personally really enjoy it. Played correctly its an awesome anti DD boat

Benham is more of a torpedo boat than a gunboat. Sims is good at higher tiers, especially gunboats where you take lots of bursts of small damage (along with Leviathan). I'd consider Atago instead of Sims here for more effective torps. Sims makes more sense with a Benson.

How do you value speed as a DD inspiration? Like Blue Furiora or Fraser? I put Fraser on Gleaves for the Benham and it does over 40 kn, which is pretty quick. I don't know that it's the absolute best build, but I like it.

Speed is nice. Very fast speeds can flummox many players since leads can be pretty substantial. I don't go too far out of my way to obtain speed, but combined with the increased incoming dispersion perks, it can be a strong survivability template.

while speed si nice, there are FAR more important inspirations. ESPECIALLY concealment.

It looks like I'm going to have to boost my Sims. I don't have him at a high enough level yet to make it worthwhile to swap Swirski(excuse spelling) for Sims.

13% torpedoes here and 37% on guns with DD. Gun use is important and how to not reveal location... Good points. Thanks.

Kinda the same, in that I started using Sims only on Bey for the German DDs...then Tanaka for the Japanese, then Burke for the US, then... you get the point...with the exception of Gleaves (where I still use AL Atago), and maybe Makarov for Khabarovsk, I think I use Sims everywhere now, too...

I disagree when it comes to using guns against BBs as a DD. I mostly play the Tashkent and khaba tho so I mostly just melt them down with 3-7k ap salvos

Your setup is more for a gun boat vs gun boat engagement. I wouldn't use this for a torpedo boat.

I get shot at all the time in the Akatsuki and Kagero. Both torp boats

@@TbullGaming I try not to get shot at when using a torp boat because the worse thing for any DD is to be spotted on the map. Quick way to sink your torp boat is to engage in a full on gun battle with a gun boat. Tactically I rather spot a gun boat with the torp boats smaller detectability range advantage and have my team mates sink you.

I am new to game, but I hate some of these low tier destroyers that have like one freaking gun on the ship. Im not good enough to make torpedoes work consistently...i need firepower!
