Also the general consensus is everyone should finger detangle a little bit before taking any tool to it so maybe that would improve your experience.

The thing is I did a light finger detangle when I was applying my rinse out conditioner after I rinsed my shampoo out. I didnt want to do it too much bc I wanted the brush to also do some of the work 😅😅
@TheVeritasForYou3 жыл бұрын
you need to keep constant tension on the hair. to help with this i would hold the hair and brush parallel to my head. if you encounter a tangle, tease the tangle for right below the area you encountered it. don't remove your hand unless your ready to move up the hair shaft. your elasticity is quite high and i would guess that could cause a lot of interference
@heyyashleyyy26693 жыл бұрын
I’ll try to do more of that next time! Yeah when I detangling I keep forgetting that I have to constantly hold the hair so it doesn’t curl and shrivel back up lol.

My texture is very similar to yours. I have tried so many brushes during my 11 year journey. With fragile strands I just think our fingers give us the most control.
@heyyashleyyy26693 жыл бұрын
I agree. The fingers give you the best control. If you have fragile strands and/or fine hair detangling tools would not be good.

I got it today and used it to brush through my dry natural hair as I did a Bantu knot out but didn’t like how it came out and how the ends were looking, so I brushed my hair out and it worked! And in both large and medium sections too! I normally wouldn’t do this but I thought it was worth noting. Let me know if you want me to give my thoughts on damp/wet hair with product. Hair stats: Kinky, 4B/4C, fine strands, high porosity, medium density, medium length.
@heyyashleyyy26694 жыл бұрын
Yeah this brush does save time on detangling bc you can do it in bigger sections. Of course! Try it on damp wet hair. It’s gonna be much better and easier
@foggylenses914 жыл бұрын
I think porosity is a spectrum so maybe you lean towards the high side. Love the video I ordered the brush already and I wanted to see some things. The sound of it makes me very weary but I didn’t see your hair coming out
@heyyashleyyy26694 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think so too. A lot of naturals are always saying they are low porosity for some reason, but I think I’m normal to high. Yeah I know what you mean. Pretty much any brush is gonna sound intimidating no matter how good it detangles lol.

@heyyashleyyy26694 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching I really appreciate it. Yeah it works pretty good but I prefer to finger detangle like I’ve been doing for years lol. Waist length woah 🤩🤩 I can’t wait until I’m waist length that’s a goal of mine!

I say go for it now tbh. Earlier the better. If your videos are informative, no one is really gonna care about your skin if you’re doing only hair videos lol

Hair this dense and coiled should be sectioned into smaller sections.
@heyyashleyyy26699 ай бұрын
You’re totally right. This video is over a year old and I’ve since then detangle and blow dry in smaller sections
@victorialutz29424 жыл бұрын
I just wish people with 4b/4c put away the brush. It’s not meant for tight coils. Brushes are for ladies with straight hair or very loose curls. Those brushes are causing splits ends and static on the hair. Y’all ripping your hair off. Only finger detangling is meant for 4b/4c hair.
@heyyashleyyy26694 жыл бұрын
Yeah I hear you. I do feel that people with tightly coiled hair and kinky hair should do finger detangling as their main source of detangling which is what I do 99% of the time.

You could still damage your hair with finger detangling
@heyyashleyyy26694 жыл бұрын
@@b4glady well of course lol. Any source of manipulation can cause damage. Anytime your fingers are in your hair it can cause damage to the hair
@independantobserverpes3 жыл бұрын

I damage my hair more with finger detangling. Because I RIP it with my fingers. Let people do what works for them. All these 'rules' are exactly what drive people back to relaxers. If I had to finger detangle for over 4 hrs every wash day, I would rethink this hair thing. And there are so many brushes so unless you've tried all and seen the splits, you're not one to talk
