Which one is the best for swimming pool setup to film and analyze strokes?
@CycleMan220010 жыл бұрын
I like the handlebar setup. Unfortunately I have had 3 GoPro's on my bike and they all went out of focus. The Silver one in particular is really badly out of focus. I have 2 Silver + models and they were also on my bike's handlebars. They too went out of focus. I now have the Black + and more recently, the 4 Silver. Any suggestions as to how to dampen the vibration to make it easier on the camera itself? I will not put any of my newer cameras on my bike. I will not risk ruining them. Thanks.

Could you show shots of the mounts in use? I was watching the DIY hand/wrist/tree video and I wanted to see how it looks with it on. Any vibrations or slidding?? Thank you!!

I have just got a massively long extendable pole from a window cleaner friend of mine. He snapped the window cleaning brush off the end. With it fully extended the end is about 25ft in the air. I'm going to make some kind of mount for on the end, don't know what yet. If you know a local window cleaner who has bust his pole, it looks useful for many things, even poking balls out of trees.

What about a GoPro mount that fastens to a bike handle bar, for example, but swivels around front, side, and rearward? Would be great for panning with the camera while riding by an interesting view or object, etc. Any idea on how to make something like that? That would be great! Thanks.

some really cool tips there! for that ski pole mount, something a bit better, and extendable, use a hiking pole instead! they're easily adjustable and some of the better ones come with the standard 1/4 x 20 screw already fastened on the top. for about 30 bucks brand new, you'll have the perfect pole, approx 5 feet long when fully extended and very light weight.

Thanks for sharing awesome DIY projects. I would try yo make the zip tie mount. I'm a motorcycle rider and use my GoPro hero 3 while riding. I saw a video of a Motocross rider use a strap mount on his ankle!! Can I use my chesty mount to strap it on my leg? Will it be enough stable?

Cool Video! I have the GoPro tripod mount. I found a bolt that fit it and drilled a hole in a hockey puck and inserted the bolt into the puck and attached a nut and the GoPro to the bolt. I put it in the net to record myself playing goal. it is safe since a) it is not rigid mounted, and b) I'm a pretty good goalie! LOL The puck mount can be used on any flat surface, obviously.

The plastic clamp mount, takes less than a half hour to make, but there is a problem with the mount. The plastic breaks fairly easily where the bolt & nut attach to the clamp, especially in the cold. The plastic clamp will also break if you are not careful and tighten it "too much". So at this point it would have been cheaper for me to purchase a third party claw mount.

I did the magnet mount using rare earth super magnets. Helps to make sure the camera does not come off!
@kylemartin10110 жыл бұрын
I wanted to used them when I made the mount but I was worried they would over power the glue used to attach the magnets to the mount. Has this been a problem for you?
@BrianFolks10 жыл бұрын
Kyle Martin "GoPro Tips and Tricks" No problem. I used some strong Gorilla Glue. I also covered the magnets with a layer of electrical tape so it would not scratch anything (especially my car).
@NYpaddler10 жыл бұрын
Kyle Martin "GoPro Tips and Tricks" A glue failure won't make the camera any less lost than magnet failure. Use a good epoxy and you shouldn't have to worry about the magnets coming off. A single magnet can easily have several pounds of holding power, but several thin magnets will give you more surface area for glue relative to the total holding power. You could also use ring magnets and bolt them on, for a $10 mount with 30+ pounds of holding force.

You will NOT be happy with the helmet mount. And dead serious the Handle bar mount is worse. The best videos I have gotten have been mounted on the seat post. Or off of the bike frame pointed forward. I suspect the "stem" mount, with a single gimbal would work extremely well. but can not say for sure.
