Nice video! Laws vary widely from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Wondering what the burden of proof is in your jurisdiction. In Pennsylvania the burden of proof in a Protection From Abuse Case is only by a preponderance of the evidence, which is much lower than the criminal standard of “beyond a reasonable doubt”. I tell guys to vet very carefully before inviting someone into your life and your home. Stay safe out there! Keep up the great work!

I understand we shouldn’t get hung up on the DV, but the world will get hung up on the DV. Having that carries weight and actually can close people’s minds to you for jobs and housing. Where is the legislation to change that? Talk about a justice system that doesn’t care about actual justice! Having a DV just because people live in the same house or knew each other out some point And then labeling any crime committed against thosepeople is an injustice. Literally can ruin someone’s whole life even if they have the case dismissed. How is that not a miscarriage of justice? How can people start legislation to change that? Especially because we’re supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, but you have to hang with this albatross of DV on your record even if you’re proven not guilty now it’s something you always have to explain.

These videos are helpful on a legal side but utterly frustrating on the personal. My wife feels like she over reacted and is trying to take it back. But it doesn't matter and I'm homeless. I don't have a place to stay and none of the video's talk about that.

Sucks when you can't afford an attorney, it's like you can't fight back at all against the court. We bumped heads accidentally and the neighbor called the police on the yelling and I went to jail even though she told them it was an accident. These charges should be dropped but without an attorney I'm probably gonna get charged with a felony or misdemeanor.

So I told my bm I didn’t wanna be with her I only wanted to co- parent but she got mad asf and started rushing up on me until my mom separated her from me, then later that night my mom wanted to see her newborn grandson and of course he is being breast fed, so my bm came to but she was told multiple times that she was not allowed in my bedroom & what did she do? She comes in it, I have bruises of her swinging a knife at me, scratching me, & hitting me, and she came in my room 3 separate times the 2nd times she broke the lock to my door. But I did react by pushing her aggressively when she had me backed into a corner, I had no duty to retreat out of my bedroom, & the crazy thing is she called the police at her house not mine

Ya but in the meantime the protects can destroy your property and have no way of proving it because having your cameras is stalking and breaks the order …. What kind of world do we live in it’s unbelievable

This is happening to me, but...she also had an old phone with all my apps and went on an Amazon shopping spree, broke into my Paypal, Facebook, Credit Cards, emails, basically stealing my identity -- all on my first night in jail! I'm hoping I can use this stuff against her at the preliminary hearing

If i have a strong evidence, because of my spouse is having affair of a co worker, is this an evidence that the prosecutor will look also. And when they called the police on me, their statements are inconsistent. I had a fight with the guy but there is no marks of injury since the police took a picture of it. I know i made a mistake, but would this help me by showing all the evidence i have like i mentioned. Like their text messages, the guys wife phone bills she sent me that my wife and her co worker are talking more than a co worker. Are they going to look into this also? Please give me some light. I just want my peace right now and move on and be better

@@alejandroruelas9574 charged with DV 4th degree. I never hit my wife or anything but she mentioned its only verbal abuse. Its so hard because i havent seen my daughter😭

@@ahhlee7685 Misdemeanor? Go to your local court ,or police station were the incident took place and present your id and request your affidavit!! It's your right ,, I would recommend you fight till the end ,, if your truly innocent don't bargain ,, you could loose a lot if you present anything that indicates guilt,, get your life RIGHT best of luck,, !! Life is not over take it like a challenge to mold you to be a better Man ,, and allow the right ppl into your life !!!
