Hi Saumya, Great video. I just want to make 2 points here....one is that though a lot of people buy convertible fridge, very few if them actually use the feature. Primarily because I you have deeo frozen peas or non veg or ice cream or such items, how can you convert the deep freezer? The items would go bad. Secondly I own a Panasonic double door fridge with freezer at the bottom. It's not mentioned in your video. Sorry, can't give you details as I bought it in 2014. It's very convenient for sure as lot of bending can be avoided. Thanks

Hi Neeta, very true. That's what I've been telling folks (including my parents) who are swayed by the convertible option. The usecase for a convertible fridge is minimal in my opinion for the few that I mentioned, not as a permanent option. I totally agree with you on the bottom freezer as well. About Panasonic, for some reason their bottom freezer version is not available right now.

Hi Samrat! On regular usage - some part of freezer is required if you store frozen foods like green peas. If you don't intend to store any frozen foods or ice, then you can go for a convertible one - as then you get more space as the fridge. Door cooling can be useful if you want to store some perishables - generally since the door keeps getting opened up - the temperature is always fluctuating in the door. But if you store things that don't spoil easily door cooling is not required. That said :) I would recommend a larger size for a family of 5 people, if you have the budget for it. 260L can be quite small. Hi! Remember - stores only recommend brands that they get a higher commission :) So don't completely go by recommendations in stores. That said - ofcourse LG and Samsung are great brands. I'm guessing you are looking for a side by side refrigerator? LG and Samsung have really large side by side refrigerators. I had my parents buy this one as they did not want a side by side - and they quite like this. I can vouch for this, a bottom mounted freezer is a real game changer. There's no going back to regular models after using these. The comfort of not having to bend every time we access the vegetable tray is just too good to not have. Convertibles are more fancy than practical in my opinion because ideally it takes a few hours for the conversion to happen. It's not instantaneous. So unless use is specific, for a regular user, convertibles aren't that useful in general.

Hi Anil! I agree on the bottom mounted! If I were going for a double door, definitely what I would buy. I partially agree about the convertibles- it is useful when hosting people for sure - But converting the entire fridge all the time is not useful to me atleast.

But it's marketed quite a bit to lure everyone into the convertible models. And the freezer compartment conversion takes long enough that if unplanned, not useful again. Wish Bottom mounted freezers were marketed better.

Bottom mounted freezers are definitely a game changer. I would have gone for that type of fridge two years ago had it not been for an urban company fridge repair guy (who came to repair my single door fridge at the time) who suggested godrej as a brand. I kinda regret buying the fridge as exactly after one year the freezer section malfunctioned and no longer freezes anything. It's more like a big size chiller tray (like in single door fridges). I had to invest in a vertical deep freezer and that's been the biggest game changer for me. I will never go back to frost free freezer unless i freeze things for just a fortnight use. I am a vegetarian. So i freeze coconut, green peas, corn, tomato puree, ginger, green chillies and garlic paste in cubes, capsicum (chop it and it best stays frozen and tastes great. No need to blanch), store grains and flours for week before transferring it to a container. All the bugs and their eggs die in that cold, unused spices, icecreams, etc. While one has to defrost but the way things freeze in a deep freezer, it doesn't lose flavour and less chance of freezer burn. But there's always time for the story later on . Coming to fridges nowadays all manufacturers include some new bells and whistles to entice the customer. But basic functionality of the fridge remains the same for all. I agree there's a considerable amount of time wastage when the converting process takes place. But the end result is it helps you for that particular time.

Hi Gaurav, AC size depends on a number of things, room size being one of them (other factors include number of people, floor, where you live, windows facing west/east and so on) . It can be calculated like this - Room size (in sq ft) / 600 + 0.5 tons. For example, in the example you said 180 / 600 + 0.5 = 0.8 - so a 1 ton AC is sufficient.
