In this video I am lucky enough to get to test ride and review the awesome ENGWE ENGINE PRO. This is an off road pedal assist E-bike that is packed with insane features and a game changer for the any bike rider.

I’ve had mine 2 years and covered best part of a thousand miles on it with my Terrier in her carry box on the rack. I’ve pumped ( gunk) tyre sealer into the inner tubes.and fitted rubber extensions to both mudguards.if the thumb throttle not fitted I think the bike is legal..I’ve been using mine on and off road ..highly recommended.

you totally forgot about an important feature most done have ...engine re gen system its even on the side of the bike ! it charges the battery ! such an important feature

I didn’t quite understand how the regen worked on this model and i personally couldn’t get it to work on the engine pro hence why i didn’t include it in this video. 🔋⚡️

great review mate, thanks a lot. Can you do a compare between pro 1.0 and ori 2.0? They differ in torque and driving methods so quite a lot of differences.

I bought 2.0, it's rubbish, it's impossible to unlock the speed, tops at 16 mph, which 52 volt battery is pointless, Im sending it back. It's a really bad sloggish ride. Stear clear

That key underneath is not convenient. Why you didn’t use your phone’s gps to see if the speed was accurate? Most of these E-bikes are off in testing. I can’t remember if you said how much you weight. That will effect speed

Since this is a recent review - have they fixed the dangerous rear mudguard fixing or is it still the old version which is at risk of breaking and getting trapped under the rear wheel causing a crash?

I think they have sorted that issue although i may be wrong. I did not notice anything about it that seemed like it could be a danger so hopefully that is an issue that has been resolved!

I take the fenders off immediately when I buy an ebike. The danger of getting a stick thrown in between the tire and fender doesn't interest me.

Hello. I see that you know Engwe electric bicycles well. I want to buy one, but I have no way to try them. That's why I would appreciate it if you could advise me on a model. I tell you my needs. I am 70 years old and I am 5'5". I weigh 70 kg. I want it to walk, mainly on steep mountain trails. I don't need speed, but I do need it to be able to climb steep trails without having to pedal.

Ideally you would need something with more hill climbing capability as the engwe engine pro will only climb small inclines when only using the thumb throttle. Engwe are releasing an engine pro 2.0 which i will hopefully be reviewing in the near future. If this has more hill climbing capabilities i will be sure to let you know!

These bikes are shoddy mate, dangerous as well frames snapping and the mid guards getting caught in the wheels.

I’m yet to experience any of this. I could understand the frame’s snapping but for that to happen they would have to be getting some aggressive riding and take some stick, as for the fenders i’ll probably remove them anyway!

I've been known to probably over loading mine. Came home with a 32 inch strapped to the back rack this week. Last week 4, 12 pks of can Pepsi and a 5 lb bag of potatoes. Over 50 lbs including an 8 pound lock and chain.

But I’ve been riding mine for two snowy, icy and freezing winters and one hot summer for about 3000 kms without any of the problems you have mentioned. Or even signs of them. I have also sold about 20 of these (almost all Engine Xs though… same same but different) during the past year and I know some of my clients have ridden their bikes a lot more than I have. Without any of the problems you’ve mentioned. Trust me, I’d be the first person to know if one of their bikes’ frames snapped in half.

Have you actually seen one of these bikes? If not, how can you make such a statement, or are you the type person who believes everything on the net is true and Santa comes every year? If you misuse any frame, it can snap, as for the mudguard mine is solid and metal
