Last Line Of Defense this may be a stupid question but how does going through an airport work with these, do you transfer your stuff to a nonmetallic wallet before hand or put it in the bin with your belt/shoes/etc? Id like and rfid blocking wallet but i never found and good leather ones, not sure if id like a metal or plastic wallet, seems like it be too much jingling around in my pocket cause i keep my wallet and my keys in my left pocket(phone and zt0770 in right pocket).

@@mannyjolon1409 Wow. Can't believe I posted this 2 years ago. I still love it! I thought several times about buying the updated version just because. But the wallet still works with no problems so I haven't felt like I should spend the money because they are a little pricey. I hardly ever carry cash so this is the route I went. If you end up carry money. Maybe try the money clip. But for me it was more important to keep the wallet thin which the money clip, in my opinion, wouldn't do that. Also bought this with the intent to carry my wallet in my front pocket. So I have not used the money clip and when I have cash on the rare occasion I just put it in my phone case. It really comes down to how you are going to use it. Hope this helps.

Observations about the FlipSide not mentioned but easily missed: From an engineering standpoint, I'm impressed! The clasp design is clever and well thought out. Durable and unlikely to ever open accidentally or unintentionally. The hinge spring tension is well balanced for a solid opening but not too strong. Opposite side from the clasp are two small holes where a thin lanyard could be strung through (don't think this is a design feature, but it works), although you'd have to slightly modify the included snap-on accessory for clearance. The clam-shell hinge shares the same pin with the inside divider. This hinge design is robust and not going wear out or break down in normal use, unlike other card wallets I have used. Because the case is rounded over, beveled and perfectly smooth, with no protrusions, catch points or friction areas, it slips in and out of my pocket smoothly. I like that my cash and cards are completely concealed until actually used. My two most-used cards are right there when I open the case and because their faces are almost entirely visible, I don't even have to remove the one in the divider to make a touch payment. My ID card is on the backside of the divider and fully visible, so I rarely have to pull it out either. Because it can be modded with optional, snap-on accessories, I can 3D print my own mods to make it do and be other functions. When I get the design worked out, there are two little pocket spaces inside the case on either side of the clasp where I can place an insert for holding a pair of micro usb cards. More to this thing than meets the eye.

The real minimalist solution is to join 2018 and use Samsung Pay which can store all your cards on it, and just carry a single credit card for scenarios where you can't beep your phone yourself onto readers (like at restaurants), and stop using cash as its less secure anyway and just keep two twenty bills on you as emergency cash. Then you can get yourself a folio wallet case for your phone, which not only offer the most superior phone protection, but are so thin and small as to act like you're not carrying anything extra at all. Moreover, there's no more "crap where did I put my wallet", as you can always ring your phone. The also tend to be soft slightly padded leather, which is far more comfortable in your pocket. I have one for my Galaxy S9+, and its awesome.
@Bananahammock885 жыл бұрын
@@BoopSnoot I have the same wallet and have the Samsung pay hooked up to my online purchases but how do you buy things when you're going places with it?!
@BoopSnoot5 жыл бұрын
@@Bananahammock88 When Samsung Pay app is installed, it should allow you to swipe up from the bottom of the screen, and the Samsung Pay interface comes up asking to identify yourself I think by eye or fingerprint (I always use fingerprint). If you are fine with the default credit card (otherwise pick from one of your other credit cards, debit cards, or gift cards in the selection that you previously enrolled), you will feel the phone start to make pulsing sounds/vibration and while its doing so, you touch it to any card scanner. From what I understand, it simulates a credit card swipe by transmitting the same magnetic signal. In any case, the card reader in the store acts like you just swiped a card and the phone will show how much the charge was and keep it in your history too. But as mentioned, keep one credit card in your folio phone case, because sometimes you need it like when giving the waitress your card at a restaurant (can't give her your phone). I'm using the iPulse Journal leather case, and it holds one credit card, my concealed license, and driver's license no problem.

I’ve been EDCing the aluminum ridge wallet for about 3 years now. I opted for the money clip option which I have found pretty convenient. You do have to flip through all your cash to find the bill you need, but I personally don’t find that too big of a problem. The clip itself is very secure and I never worry about my cash falling out. I carry 9 cards on average and regularly access 3 of them. I’ve found the “pinch fan” method to be pretty effective for the main 3 and relatively effective to access the other 6 cards when needed. It can sometimes be a hassle to access the other 6, but since I don’t regularly need them I don’t find it detrimental. The best part about the ridge to me is that it’s overall footprint is so small it makes it more comfortable to carry the rest of my EDC items. For anyone debating on which wallet to get I personally think the Ridge gets the job done, so give it a try!

To be frank only the Flip Side might have had an echo to me but even that one seems gadget-y in the end. What do I expect from my wallet? To carry and give me easy access to everything I need, and ‘everything I need’ does NOT consist in credit cards only. I usually carry a lot of pocket money, every time I buy something at the market I'm given receipts, coupons, banknotes and change in one fell swoop of the hand which I have to sort and stuff in my wallet in 3 sec tops. My wallet must also contain a 105×75 ID card, a 135×90 driver licence and even postage stamps! Add it to the need for it to be waterproof and RFID-protected, add to it some sort of pairing to the smartphone so that you can always locate it (close by with a bip or remotely by GPS) and the possibility of adding a keychain, you can easily guess that such minimalist wallets are only for people who don't (have to) carry a lot when they go out.

Cool looking wallets BUT-on your demos every single wallet looks like easy access for ONLY THE TOP CARD. Even the Flipside which you declare the best I access while I watch you with my own eyes fumbling away to get underneath! None of them actually look ideal to say carry ONE CARD ONLY as well. I have my old wallet loaded with about 20 cards which I usually don't need everyday-so I want to leave these and just carry one CC, license, medical insurance card and AAA. With the ability to add an extra ATM card, and important working business cards. I love the way the Ridge looks BUT minimum Ridge is now $95. The others look like you're paying for their mechanisms which add 30% more space. The Flip does work great for that top card-but so does putting a single card in your pocket-or maybe a slim sleeve on the back of phone which you take anyway. The Flip also looks a bit like having Tupperware in your pocket. Some leather sleeves are extremely slim and have several slide pockets so you have fast access to 3-4 cards-faster than any of these. BUT I do like the look of the Ridge artistically. Thanks

I wouldn't have any of these. All appear to be a PITA.. If you have to fold your cash in thirds and stuff it in some nook or cranny then how functional do you think it will really be at the register while other people are waiting on you to put your stuff down and fumble with your money folding it in thirds and trying to make it fit in some little space. Then there's the cards that all all in one pocket and scrape against each other when you slide them out looking for one specific card. over time the numbers become faded and scratched off and the magnetic stripe becomes damaged and scratched from sliding them against each other...I just dont see any of those options as a workable option...
