How can one wash the Nordic? It's cardboard?

The title is imprecise and hence a bit confusing. Nordic Pure is electrostatic, but not reusable. All reusable filters are electrostatic, but only some disposable filters are (e.g., Nordic Air, Filtrete, Aerostar, Filterbuy). Most people assume electrostatic filters are reusable but that is not the case. The title and the article confusingly mix lower MERV rating (i.e., poorer small particle filtering) electrostatic reusables in the category of "best electrostatic" where they Don't belong. In fact, there are now at least a couple good MERV rating washables that would qualify for this review.

Sorry, I may be wrong, but Nordic Pure does NOT look like an electrostatic filter. Electrostatic means that the filter is charged and magnetizes the dust particles. That means the frame has to be hardwired into the furnace. This Nordic Pure just looks like a regular furnace filter. Am I wrong?

The last one is NOT an electrostatic filter. Can not wash either.
