Thanks so much! My hvac guy recommended the lower mervs because he said the higher ones just make your hvac work harder so a washable, reusable merv 8 that is good for the environment? #win

Thank you for your review, It appears to be a great idea but I have one concerns that is not addressed in your or anyone else's review. Since this is a flat filter vs the typical pleated filter there is much less surface area for air to pass over. That will instantly increase the static pressure and cause the motor to work harder. We may be saving money now but at what cost?
@flannelguydiy64583 жыл бұрын
interesting concept but then you have the potential turbulence of the air once it goes through the pleats. What matters most is having a filter that does not obstruct too much flow based upon what it is made from. Also, allowing it to get dirty. Dust build up on the fan blades reduces the air flow too.

@@flannelguydiy6458 how do you like it since you first posted the video? I just started using mine 3 days ago and I had some concerns about it making the unit run harder? still in my ac unit so I cant really tell just yet but I'd like to see how it worked for you?
@AviRavid12 жыл бұрын
Don’t waste your money after a couple months the filter doesn’t work as he should and if you wash it get damaged in the washing machine,The warranty doesn’t cover it.

@@AviRavid1 I am glad you told me this cause I order it off amazon before I seen your message and I seen right away it was making my air unit work too hard, I normally run it at 75 to 74 and my homes is cold, when I put this in I had to run my air unit at 72 to 70 and it took longer to cool my house I was afraid it was going to cause my things to freeze up so I replaced it back to the one I normally use and never had a problem with just expensive but it is worth it in the end for sure. I will be returning mine. Thank you so much

@@EsteeDarla So, are you saying you don't recommend the AirThreds filters? Flannel Guy DIY recommends it, but it sounds like you don't. Is that correct?

What about adequate air flow, will this bog down your system and reduce the lifespan? Thx

Does it restrict the air flow a lot? Is your blower louder?

They’re only MERV 8 filtration so not the best but seems like a good way to save some money and reduce waste! At $60 they’re not a bad deal considering they “should” replace 36 regular filters plus with a 12 month warranty!

@@flannelguydiy6458 I meant the dust on tables and lamp fixtures and other furniture. I have only two cold air returns in my house on the first floor. One in the floor of our front room and one in the floor of our dining room ( old house with the cold air returns running through the floor joist's in our basement ) and 7 wall registers in the whole house. I went to those see-thru fiber type filters last year during the supply chain problem and put a micro-fiber towel over each cold air return. After I pleaded to my wife to stop burning candles..it seems to help the air born dust problem. We don't smoke or have pets and just have carpet on our staircase to the second floor and two small area rugs in the front room and dining room.

Junk! Cheapo air filters are the best for the longevity of your furnace!
@harvestblades Жыл бұрын
I have six kids that we homeschool so usually 6-8 people at home & #110 German shepherd dog so lots of hair & dirt. I change my filter monthly when it is running so 8-10 a year. We don't have respiratory issues, so in my opinion a washable or cheap filter that catches the big stuff & hair is the key as a high quality filter can become obstructed within a month when they say to replace every three.
