These 986s are just nice Porsches. Period. Purchased one at random this spring and love it. Never had a Porsche with so many practical benefits: small, convertible, manual, enough luggage space for a weekend trip, classic look and feel and it seems you can also track them a little bit ;)

Thanks for sharing your experience here. I was tempted to try racing the Boxster as I was involved with Porsche at their launch and love the car. In the end I decided to run an MX5 SuperCup car for one main reason-Costs. The Boxster is a fantastic car but I was not confident that under racing conditions, especially lateral G, that the engine would hold up. Also each time something goes "POP" you are off to find Porsche parts. I bought a car for under £10k and ran a whole season of 7 race weekend for about £6k. So with regard to your video title I suggest that there are better and cheaper alternatives as an entry level racing series.

Well done Lee. I was lucky enough to do four races in someone else’s Boxster back in 2018/19. You are right it is truly addictive, that is why I now own my own race team.

What a great video, Lee. It brought back a LOT of memories.The adrenalin... My first race I hardly braked at all. I was just sideways in every corner scrubbing off speed :-)) I really hope you get more opportunities. The significant other would not allow a race Boxster purchase? :-p

What engine modifications are made for protection? Baffled / deep sump? Additional scavenger pump? Low temp stat? 3rd radiator?

Id quite like to know too. M96s and tracks typically dont mix.

Nothing, there's another video explaining the requirements. Basically they were none, but of course you could do them on your account.

How come you still got a pair of speakers on the dash? Don't think you gonna listen to music while you are racing! BTW, you should get a set of light weight wheels!

Great video! What's the spec on the race cars? I know you said engine gearbox were standard, what suspension mods were done?

Cheers Sam! Suspension is JRZ coilovers and GT3 LCAs, otherwise all standard.

@@9WERKSTV thank you! Budget won't stretch to a 911 right now but miss that porsche feeling. The only thing that upset about my previous boxsters was the long gearing, but shorter ratio coupled with some suspension tweaks should be amazing fun still!
