If you would have asked me just last year I would have said, "nobody wants to see a show about a B level batman villian just like noone wants a Gotham show without batman"....I was wrong. This show is OUTSTANDING!

Every episode has been doing nothing but hitting yet a another phenomenal episode and Wow what a powerful performance from Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone seriously she deserves a Award for her performance and I just felt bad for Sofia in the whole episode but the ending was satisfying.

Sofia might have done Gotham City and Batman a favor by getting rid of some of the Falcone family! And it was nice to see unrelated characters like Magpie and Summer Gleason in this universe. And you're right about this painting Falcone in a much darker light. I truly think that film deserves a rewatch once this series is complete.

I fear she might have inadvertently assisted in the rise of her arch-enemy Oswald Cobblepot by eliminating the Falcones. Thankfully she kept Johnny Viti alive who she could use to establish her authority in the crime world and challenge Oz and the Maronis.

Yeah, this episode was great. I agree on all points of world building, and really how brilliant it was of the marketing to have us think Sofia was always a pure villain with how comic fans are familiar with her story as the Hangman from 'Dark Victory'. It was a great bait and switch. It was also good to see how Arkham really is a place where madness and horror breed. And perhaps it's just because I've been so spoiled by how the Arkham video games have so many references, but I couldn't help but subconsciously wish that the head doctor and Sofia's doctor, were instead Hugo Strange and Jonathan Crane respectively. It would have taken away too much focus from Sofia I know but I digress. Guess that's why they used such a minor villain in Magpie in the role of reference.

This episode was amazing. Sophia really got a lot of development and backstory. The Arkham parts were extremely tense and I actually felt like it was more horror based than the rest of the show. The scene where Sophia got beat up and the scene where Sophia killed Magpie were terrifying and I actually considered stopping watching the episode. Carmine is a horrible person but the show made me like Alberto a lot more. The ending was insane and I loved how manic she became at the end. I think Sophia was changed by how messed up the world was. It was also awesome to see Julian Day in the episode as he’s a great villain and I hope we get to see him more.

To be honest, I skipped some parts of the episodes, it was so hard to watch this without relating, looking back at moments in life where I had stuff like that happen to me, not going to the asylum part and being framed for a murder just feeling helpless.

If this show keeps getting better it may end up forcing Battenson into the DCU...I hope not. I want Ackels...but for some reason the bigger names seem to be shying away from the DCU. They may want to see it succeed before they jump in because the DCEU ruined some folks I don't know. But man...this show is PEAK story telling.

James Gunn has recently debunked the rumor that DCU Batman would be middle-aged, calling this rumor "bullsh--". With the perennial decline of DC outside of The Batman franchise, most recently seen with colossal flopping of Joker 2, it wouldn't be surprising if they indeed want to have Pattinson be DCU Batman.

With every new episode, The Penguin makes me convinced that it should be the foundation of the new DCU, not Creature Commandos. I really hope that Gunn and Zaslav find a way to convince Matt Reeves to let Pattinson's Batman and this Gotham operate within the shared DCU.

​@@OurMovieNewsThe time is still not lost for course-correction! The DCU is yet to start, and they haven't moved ahead with anything Batman-related. They can easily retcon The Batman to be the 1st movie of DCU and entice a whole new legion of fans (including some disgruntled Snyderverse ones) towards the new DCU, and be like "Hey, you liked The Batman. Guess what, it is going to lead into a full-fledged new DC Universe with a new Superman and Wonder Woman". Could work beautifully if executed well!

Don't crowbar what Reeves is doing into another universe. Allow him the creative freedom to tell the story that he wants to tell, because asking executives to try and change his mind or alter his vision is no better than what execs did to give us Justice League 2017. Unless you're saying you don't trust what James Gunn might have in store with The Brave and the Bold.

This show is too much Sofia for my taste. Once again a bait and switch. Yeah Penguin is at the forefront but low key it’s “The rise of Sofia Falcone” . A character never intended to be any major character. 4 episodes and Batman isn’t even mentioned! And where the fuck are the cops in Gotham city? It’s GOTHAM!!! Where’s Gordon, Bullock etc ? How about other criminals in the Rogues Gallery? And the Victor character DOESN’T make sense! I don’t give a fuck about Sofia. Give me more Penguin and him doing bad guy shit to good people!
