I love the Guild Codex urban fantasy series, which is actually three series of books that intertwine. One is Spellbound, featuring a young woman who applies for a job as a bartender only to find it's at a "guild" of magic practitioners that she's not supposed to know about, and gets drawn into an exciting life with magic users. Another is Demonized, about a shy young woman who accidently gets bound to a demon, without all the usual caveats on the demon's behavior - this one has a serious romantic undertone that is worked into the story really well. These have become favs and deserve more attention!

Just something to note Reagan is that kindle unlimited really varies by country, so almost none of these books are available through Canada's Kindle unlimited. Obviously you couldn't have known that haha I was just sad when I went to add some of these books and couldn't! Great video nonetheless.

I read "A winter's promise" upon your recommendation (was actually able to borrow from my library because the author is French- which is my mother tongue- great surprise!) and I loved it! Can't wait to continue but I'm in the middle of reading too many series at the time- which is also why I haven't picked up "A darker shade of magic". So looking forward to read it! 🤗

Thanks for the summary of Gideon the Ninth! I've been told a few times that I need to read it, but had no idea what it was about. A Memory Called Empire is a favorite of mine now, and the sequel is quite different but good in its own right. It develops Mahit and Three Seagrass's relationship further, which was cool, and in this book, both Mahit and Three Seagrass are out of their depth, trying to learn a new language and culture with lives in the line, and it's really neat to see them keep working together. You should make time to read it! Also, using a Kindle for when joints hurt is such a good idea... I'm struggling through Babel right now, even though it's GREAT, but it's so heavy and my arthritis hates me for it. I just received Priory of the Orange Tree for Christmas, too, and I'm side-eyeing the size of that book, though I've wanted to read it for a while... I have the Kindle app on my phone, but don't care for it much. Maybe I need to get a Kindle.

My all time favorite fantasy book series from Kindle Unlimited is the Feral Souls trilogy by Erica Woods. It is a paranormal reverse harem romance. 5 ⭐️. The characters are so real and complex. I have read over and over.

I too am a collector of physical books, but my Kindle paperwhite has definitely come in handy, and, as a self-published author, I know a lot indie authors utilize Kindle Unlimited. As a reader, I do not use Unlimited, but I do buy ebooks, mainly nonfiction or gay romances.

A great cozy fantasy book I found on the UK KU was You Can't Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne which is similar to Legends and Lattes and involves two women running away from a queen together to start their dream shop which sells books and tea. It was a really fun light hearted read!

I recommend The Soulbound Series by Hailey Turner, the first one is A Ferry of Bones and Gold, it's like Shadowhunters with 2 gay main characters and some spice. I thought that for being in that category it had a really well thought out world building and plot. The whole series is on Kindle Unlimited.

Just be aware as this is only available in the US from when I last checked. I live in the UK and was really looking forward to being able to take out books from the library to Libby. The Kobo seems to be able to borrow books from my library through Libby in the UK ☺️ however saying that I got a Kindle! 🤣

The Spellmonger Series by Terry Mancour. This is more of a classic fantasy with excellent world building and plenty of fun comic relief in the characters personalities and dialog. It's currently up to 15 books in the main story line with several supporting character and side quest novelas,, and they are all available on KU (in the USA at least). This series was recommended to me multiple times, but after reading the description I wasn't necessarily convinced. I finally picked it up after a reading slump and was happy I did. Each book effortlessly builds on the last and checks all of the major boxes for me. Side note, the audiobook versions are fantastic as well if you feel like splurging for a road trip in the middle of the series.
