I would have bought an Aventon but in Canada they are far more expensive compared to Lectric xpeak. (Aventon 2 3000$ CAD lectric xpeak 1800$ CAD) the difference is huge.

You guys MUST try the new Wired Freedom and Cruiser. Full suspension, 2100 wh 60v battery putting out 3200watts, thru axle fork with 203mm rotors and 4 piston brakes for $1999. Makes every bike on your list look slow, underpowered, and overpriced. I’d bet they would gladly send you one since they seem to really value objective reviews and yours have a rigorous and objective format.

e-cells five star dual star and the wired freedom. neither are mentioned here. also, juiced bikes jetcurrent pro is not out yet but coming later this year. it may be worth checking out for a folding ebike. velotric fold 1 is also a noteworthy one. with the ebike tarrifs all the prices will be going up.

This is exactly the video I needed, now a list on Torque Sensor e-bikes would be the icing on the cake, I want an affordable e-bike that is good for hill climbing. My ideal bike would be sub $2k, torque sensor, off road tires with front suspension , high torque motor, and screen with good information. The Aventon Aventure 2 checks most boxes but at $1800ish is a bit much for my current budget and I don’t like integrating racks, would prefer something that has more of a traditional bike shape like the Ride1up Lmt’d, my only real complaint is the lack of off road tires and the battery is just a bit physically larger than I’d like. Great video again guys!

If climbing hill get a mid drive. Being able to run motor through gears makes a huge difference. Look for used at an ebike store if you want quality at a low price.

The Aventure did come to mind while reading it. The LMT'D would be a great choice too. You can always look at swapping out the tires if that's all that's holding you back on it.

My two favorites were the Adventure 2 and Velotric Nomad. I was able to find a Nomad for sale locally and after cruising around on it I was sold, they were also able to match the online price which made it a great deal at almost half the price of the Adventure 2! This is my first E-bike, it’s easier to pedal than I thought it would be and you can get a workout on it if you choose to pedal on the lower pedal assist settings. Thanks EBR, I was looking for a fat tire E-bike and this review definitely helped make my final decision easier!

Great question! We'll give you a couple options. The Aventure.2 is a great all-around choice; it's big, comfortable, and tons of fun. The Radster Trail is similar but feels a bit more like a regular bike because of its narrower tires. And then the Mokwheel Obsidian's full suspension will make it a bit more comfortable if users will be riding over rough and rocky terrain.

@@ElectricBikeReport Regarding the Nomad, it being 1299 right now for the power and range it provides is a steal. It just seems like the option that gets you the most per dollar spent. The Adventure is sort of great at everything. I don't have one but from everything I've read Aventon uses quality parts and is has a great reputation. Rear rack and fenders are also nice additions.

some e-bikes are single speed or belt drive. Are gears less relevant on e-bikes? What are the disadvantages of no gears?
@ElectricBikeReport2 ай бұрын
It depends on the style of bike; for example, a moto/moped-style e-bike won't have much trouble. But on something like a city bike, it can be tough to strike a good balance on a single-speed drivetrain. If the gearing isn't right, it can be tough to start moving or climb hills. On the opposite end, it could also end up with ghost pedaling in the bike's higher assist levels.

The BEST fat tire, rear hub e-bike made in 2024 (BAR NONE) is my dual-suspension 60V Wired Freedom. It blows away your weak choice of "Best full-suspension rear-hub" being the 1000 watt, 948 wh Mokwheel Obsidian, as mine has a high-torque 2200 watt rear-hub motor that moves my mass at over 40 mph, has a 1200 wh battery, full-suspension and a price of just under $2000. Sad that your reviewers are considering more expensive, lower-performing brands that offer FAR less value.

What is it that made you put the Aventure 2 as the best overall instead of the Mokwheel Basalt? By the numbers it seems like the Mokwheel beats or meets the Aventon in most categories. It goes further, slightly faster and cheaper. Just a bit longer for braking. Do you just not want to give the same bike more than one award? If so that's not very helpful. Is there something else that makes the Aventon better?
@ElectricBikeReport3 ай бұрын
Excellent question. We hope to eventually do a full comparison between these bikes to go really in-depth. The Basalt is a solid bike, but the Aventon edged it out in a couple of small areas. We liked the Aventure's geometry and overall feel a little better. Its torque sensor also felt more natural and responsive.
@myquest843 ай бұрын
@@ElectricBikeReport Thank you for the reply. As someone who is about 300 lbs and wanting to ride about 30 mile round trips do you think that the advantages of the Aventure outweigh the larger battery of the Basalt? Both in theory would have enough range, but I'd prefer to not have range anxiety.

The Aventure 2 has a problem with the front brake calipers. They angle is not correct, and the brake will make a clicking noise. You could sand the disk to stop this, but then you risk it being below the spec width. The Radster Trail isn't for bigger folks. It only has a 290 max rider capacity and you really have to drill down on their site to find out that the 370 lbs isn't actually correct. Sorry anyone over 6'2" tends to be around 300 lbs. The XPeak as a fatal flaw. You can fix the high speed wobble with an after market head tube insert, but Lectric won't even acknowledge the problem. They've taken back a bunch of these bikes because of this problem. I'm not going to speak to the others, because most are just not what I'm looking for.
