DEFINITELY MANONG SAMMY HAS BEEN THE BEST FILIPINO CARPENTER WE HAVE WORKED WITH!
There have been many amazing Filipinos who have been a part of our land project here in Cateel... but Manong Sammy is am absolute legend! In this video, we take a look at him putting together a bed frame... in only three days! Besides admiring the Blaan boys awesomeness, we spend another day here by the beach. I take out my stand up paddle board for the first time in a year, and do a lot of surf falling! Mao na diha!

That bed is world class, 5 star resort quality. I don’t know what it cost in time and materials to make (and it doesn’t really matter anyway) but I’ve see similar bed frames cost THOUSANDS of US Dollars. The point is it was made specially for you which makes it priceless. A custom made creation made from love and respect!

WOW! is an understatement with the craftsmanship of that bed frame. It is one of a kind as well, as Manong Sammy didn't seem to use any blueprints or plans. Just that picture on Pinterest and the blueprint in his head, legend indeed. Using hardwood as material, that could easily sell more than a thousand $ here in the states.

I remembered my late uncle Juanito. He is my mom's brother-in-law. He is a carpenter/boat builder, a legend in his own right. He used to build motor bancas single handedly. He is well known in their barangay back then in building quality boats. They lived on a small island without electricity back then so no power tool was used in his work. All basic manual tools. Amazing.

I remember my uncle Ponie youngest brother of my nanay in Manong Sammy, like him my uncle can build anything and do anything. It is very nice to have an all around good, handy guy around. Uncle Ponie has since returned to their province of Maasin, Leyte and wishes him the best. The bed frame turns out sooo good!

Nice bed...hope you are going to have it stained. I wonder if the wood is treated. I am sure your bed is heavy duty. I would suggest to have Sammy build you a wardrobe cabinet and another bed frame in your guest room. He seems to be a good handyman. Those banana Chips looks delicious.

Love your home Kulas. I'm curious about your solar set up. Do you have it connected to the power grid? Or a power wall ? I have bought old wooden pallets and made some furniture. The wood is very good quality and strong. Usually around 100 peso to buy. You should get some for Uncle Sammy and see what he can come up with, bet he could do wonders as he seems to be a true artisan. Power On.
