My Fire Kit consist of a pair of Reading Glasses for Solar Ignition, and a Key Ring Liquid Match, which gives me both a Spark Ignition Source with the Ferrocerium striker, and flame ignition with a wide variety of common fuels. 3 independent sources of ignition with two common items.

I don't think I've ever openly chuckled at one of your videos before, but that all ended when you said "It's going to be lit". :-)

Agreed! The rule of redundancy states: "One is none, two is one" to prevent a single point of failure.

great man. I love how you started with solar "woot" personally and like many , I carry flame, spark and heat(usually solar) methods with tinder and tinder making tools. All the best from C.R. :D

Cool video. My two kits have Bics, UCO matches, and Light My Fire steels. For tinder I have Quick Tabs or the Coughlans wax and sawdust blocks. I also have a candle in my big kit. Those large size UCO matches work amazingly well if you put one or two under your tinder. And, while I am on my soapbox: I notice that a lot of people make no effort to block the wind, or shelter their materials when trying to light a fire. Even digging a small pit will help immensely when trying to keep a match lit.

I do love my jute twine because you can put so much in a tiny little space and it makes the greatest bird's nest if you really can't find any other way to make one so I always have jute twine on me and really it takes up no space

I treasure the 9 mm casing fero rod that my buddy made for me, but Swedish fire steel is my favorite. I also watched the video about carrying the leather man nylon pouch with a bic lighter tucked in back pocket so I do that too

Lots of good ways to start a fire but way too much for everyday carry. I personally would cut it down so it fits in a small tin or bag. Way too much for Dec and a little small for inch bag.

what's far better is 8" of 3/8" OD cotton rope, coated with wax, charred on one end. It will ignite from a spark, even if it's soaking wet. Near that charred end, wrap a 1" long tube around the rope. Make it out of soda can metal. Slide the tube up and down the rope to adjust the flame. You can use this to carry an ember to 100's of fires, in the wettest, windiest of conditions.

The fresnel len is too small, need very strong sun light and luck to working. A A4 size one will be more ideal. Alought the size will be much larger, it will still be easy to store and carry around

I thought I was going to see a fire kit. This video is just 1 giant 10 minute ad for get rich gimmicks that these companies gave you for free to try to sell the average family that only goes camping once every couple 2-3 years. No I'm not bashing on these products and no I'm not saying they won't work. I'm just saying it's gimmicks and dollar signs for you. I mean out of all these products you was showing off the only thing I see worth having is the waterproof matches. The magnifying card good idea but I'd have a minimum x4 magnification magnifying lens. The ferro rods are ok but I wouldn't waist my time and money on one of those tiny little things. Get a minimum 6x½" ferro rod that has a hole in the tip to make a simple "small" paracord lanyard. I wouldn't waste a single penny on any of those tinders. I can get mine off the land and I can make my own. All those tinder products they sell online and for the price you pay for them "for so little" you can easily make all of them yourself in massive bulk For a fraction of the price. It's also best to know how to make these things and make them yourself. Also the flint and steel and bow drill that you just bashed down should be the #1 thing you have in your fire starter kit along with a metal tinderbox with charged punk wood in it. It doesn't take much skills to know how to use them. The way worded and expressed yourself about flint an steel and a bow drill seems more like because you couldn't get a roaring fire within a snap of a finger you automatically shoved then in the trashcan. Yes it does take a certain bit of knowledge to know how to use them but it isn't rocket science.
