+teehtravel I totally agree. We enjoyed Ghent the most too. There was a Christmas market when we went which had a ferris wheel with amazing views of the city.

What about spare ribs? In Gent you can get these in a "all you can eat" fashion. We were at this place: amadeus-resto.be/en/amadeus-2-gent-belfort/ Gent is actually a very nice place. As beautiful as Brugge, not as crowded as Brussels, Gravensteen castle is amazing, the camping site Blaarmeersen can be recommended, the cathedral is stunning.

The usual clichés about what you call “Belgian food” but is in fact limited to the déjà vu sweet treats. At least, try something local, such as the neuzekes (also called “cuberdons”), that would be a great Ghent product. Or, as Belgium has a great culinary culture, try the Ghent waterzooi. Instead of which, having a Brussels waffle in Ghent (it’s apparent that you don’t even know the difference between a Liège and a Brussels), honestly there’s nothing local about your trip. It’s all about clichés about a Disneyland type of Belgium.

The "stoofvlees" sauce you ate with your fries, you should better order it at a restaurant. The sauce looked way to watered down and there seemed to be no meat in it. Cool video btw.

+Courtney It is amazing, but might be difficult for a day trip. It would take at least two hours by train each way. I'd suggest you rather explore other Dutch cities like Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam, Gouda. Hope you have an amazing time in Amsterdam. Hopefully some of my videos can give you some tips.

i'm from Ghent and you should mix the stoofvleessaus with mayonaise , it's a ghent thing. But i have to say for me the stoofvleessaus in the de frietketel looked much to waterish

There are far better frietshops in Ghent - that one looked awful (from a local)
