My parents and I went to DC the weekend before Thanksgiving. We had a great time. We stayed at George Washington U area and it had everything. We made a great decision to go to DC during the fall rather than the summer. Thank you to you and your channel.

I watched and asked a ton of questions back in May when my family and I visited for my psychology study presentation. I wanted to thank you for all the tips, tricks, and hacks that I was able to use! I first downloaded ALL the apps that you recommend, and oh boy was that a lifesaver! Also, we used the metro more often than not, after about the first three rides we started to remember the various color routes and names of the stations which I think may ease new visitors to know it’s not difficult once you get the hang of it. Yes. We visited during “8th grade season”, I would have avoided if I could, but again I was speaking at a scheduled conference. I will say I agree that you can avoid their “typical” site seeing activities by going around their scheduled routes. We also got to go through the White House and capital via emailing our state senator for a tour, I highly recommend that too! It was great seeing where my great grandfather X11 worked while in office (John Adams). There is a lot of history that one may gain by a guided tour of the capital. While we were unable to come on the trip hacks Tour (which I honestly looked into it just didn’t fit into our schedule) I highly recommend to anyone reading this to go on Rob’s tour if you can! And on a last note (sorry for the long comment), we ate at both L'Enfant Plaza (because we went to the air&space and spy that day) highly recommend California tortilla, and we ate at union station both downstairs by Walgreens/metro at &pizza, and upstairs at uno’s pizza and shake shack. A few blocks from union station we ate at the west wing cafe, their bagels/breakfast food was great! Last two to mention is in Georgetown, called good stuff eatery which I’m pretty sure you had mentioned this one-BEST burger I have ever had! And a place called pret a manger. I am so sorry for how long this is, just wanted to say thank you so much for your help!

As usual the video was cramed with great information. for our visit the one that caught my eye since we are staying in Virgina coming in on the yellow line is the L Enfant plaza since that is the main Metro point we will be coming in on and visiting The Air and Space Museum, the Castle and The natural History Museum the first day. We have 2 boys so having a variety of choses is huge and definitely going to check out Anns Pizza on our trip

I made a special trip to Union Station because I love the architecture and found the dining options really lacking. I highly recommend the Capitol Cafe if you visit the US Capitol during lunch. Not a food court but lots of options and the Senate bean soup is amazing!

I actually tried both the lower level food court and the great hall food court at Union station. The lower level is more typical of a mall setting but there is a liquor store of all things down their while i tried the great hall shake sack and it was mobbed in the early afternoon over the holiday break also it weirdly hard to get a straw in their.

another one is the food court at International Square on the corner of 19th and K - it's literally right next to the Farragut West Metro station. I like to sit by the large waterfall/fountain display in the middle of the atrium, it's very relaxing and soothing but it also makes me wanna pee, but thankfully there's a convenient restroom nearby

I ate at Taco Bell at Union Station. Why? Well, when I was in college, we did a lot of road trips and always picked Taco Bell because it was cheap and had vegetarian food. So, now I’ve been to Taco Bell in 40 states, DC and 3 countries.

We're going this Dec 30-31. Driving up from Lynchburg. Definitely checking out Takorean. Do you think we can leave the car at the hotel and use buses/metro for 2 days and pick up the car in the evening of the second day when we start back? We're planning to visit again in May when school lets out.

Hi Rob I'm visiting Washington DC in April 10-17th. And I am stressed about decision as to where to stay, I don't want to too far away from everything. I narrowed it down to two possible choices, but cant decide which is more convenient. The two choices I I narrowed down to are Hyatt wharf or Homewood suites navy yard. I'm traveling with my husband who cant do a lot of walking and we are bringing our dog. I chose these two because of free breakfast and dog friendly and my main reason for visiting is for the cherry blossom, monuments and a I just a game night at national park. I am also thinking of adding a tour. What choice do you think is most convenient for our week stay in DC? We may rent a car for 1 day for our Anniversary. Please help if you can. Thanks Allison P.S what are you tour rates...

Both hotels are on our recommended list. Hyatt House Wharf is closer to Cherry Blossom festivities. www.triphacksdc.com/hotels Trip Hacks DC public tours are $45 per person, private tours are $299 per group (up to 10). www.triphacksdc.com/tours

Yeah this whole video kind of needs to be re-made. L'Enfant Plaza is still struggling and Union Station had a bunch of turnover. We'll see if all the field trips this year can bring any of them back.
