There is so much more to Auckland then just the downtown area, you've got the Newmarket District, Westgate, Manukau City, Orminston etc those are all food & shopping areas too.

Yeah the staff at Piefee are rude. And its overpriced. A shame cos some of their food is good. Try Pie Rolla down the road.
