A camera system at a shop that looses money haha not much point unless she thinks the lost money is down to theft. As far as I understand it the shop looses because the family help themselves to stock and not paying , which a camera wont stop haha!
@ABritinthPhilippines5 жыл бұрын
I struggle with most of your messages and this one is no exception,there is a very big difference between you thinking someone is stealing and acutely seeing them stealing.
@Thomas-bq8hj5 жыл бұрын
Haha family helping themselves is still theft.
@TheEnimabandit5 жыл бұрын
it is true chris but you had stated in past videos that the main reason for the losses were that family members either helped themselves to the stock or the mother had said no problem, thus it is a little pointless spending money on cameras if you already know the major issue and its not full on thief it is family taking stock some call it thief others say lack of control. I'm not trying to be crappy or bad about it, its just a fact. If one knows the issue is there little point in looking for a new one. But I'm sure you know it far better than I do.@@ABritinthPhilippines

They generally dont have street bins because they are stolen for metal or other uses. Or if there are bins the poor locals will pull everything out to sift through what's there. Look at often the steel manhole cover missing in the middle of the road, yes new BBQ plate.

The fact is it's very difficult for a foreigner to operate a business in the Philippines. Filipinos look at foreigners as $ dollar signs. If your business does start to make money they we'll most likely become jealous of you and try to figure away out to get you kicked out of the country so they can take it over. That's why it's better to have a pension or an income from abroad. Foreigns almost always end up getting ripped off in the Philippines.
@TheEnimabandit5 жыл бұрын
the issue with depending on a pension is it is pretty static based on western inflation which is low. The Philippines has been going though massive rises in inflation thus the pension will never keep up so each year you become a little worse off than the year before. If you add to that some places or currencies like the pound has lost over 40% of its value from say 10 years back so again if your on a fixed amount you will be starting to struggle. My point is unless your pension is a really great one i.e. a few thousands pounds a month of 4 or 5 k usd a month within 10 years you will be starting to fell the pain as many are currently doing I suspect Chris included as the rental he gets from his house will not be going up at the same rater as the inflation here. You really need a local income or long term the numbers don't add up.

The problem is people here will pass by a bin and then drop the crap on the floor its sad as it makes the place look crappy they need to enforce anti littering laws that way it would not need as much sweeping. People need to be educated to not leave little in their area that way it wont look so bad

Chris,As far as I know,Our English word called competent means capable or more than capable.And the words incompetent and incompetence means not capable meaning lack of ability,right? And Chris,First of all,We pray,wish and hope that you will continue to adapt to the ghastly,terrible and horrible way of lives of our fellow Philippine inhabitants,people and citizens of our nation,country and state the Philippines (The "Pearl of the Orient," The Paris of Asia" specially during the Spanish times or period and It's More,More and More Fun in the Philippines!!!) specially where they are located in slums,squatters and shanty towns where you are currently living,thriving and surviving.( And Chris,Keep talking to your adorable,dear and precious Filipina wife Melody so that she'll be accustom to speaking our universal,known and famous world's language called the English language).And cheers to all of you!!!

@@gregpineda8660 Oh, I know. When I hear the quote "Run like hell by Filipinos" I usually say, WISH GRANTED! But I'm fairly certain that the US hand laid lightly on Naga as it is so far from where the US was operating. Excepting possibly the Railroad. The railroad needs to be fixed, it would be a boon for economic activity. It's 170 year old technology, it should be doable.

I’m guessing that the reason they don’t have trash bins for rubbish is because not only does it get abused, theft of city property is a real threat too. I’m sad to admit it’s a bit of a social issue, but maybe not in Naga.

No, it never gets done. If people stopped littering, the sweepers would just push it around daily, maybe lay down some fresh when the old trash wears out.

It really look grey and horrible there today buddy at least when the sun is shining the place look a little better if the area is not the nice on the eye the sun really helps haha. Not sure about you I have no idea how the local eat the food when it is cold when it is first put out its warm but after an hour it gets cold haha I just cant eat cold food when it is something that is meant to be hot haha. The bread looks and smells great but I find it way too sweet not sure about you. I now know a few places in Makati that does decent sour doe bread and is not sweet at all.
@thorlin38263 жыл бұрын
The locals don't care. They are used to really poor food. You can bring them hot food and they will talk and ignore it until it goes cold. I'm a bit of a foodie. Hot food has more flavor. I also abhor someone turning good ingredients into trash before eating. Cook like you love who you are cooking for is always a good plan and my wife agrees.

Another interesting Video, Good Content. If you don't mind me asking you Chris, how much on average does MA make profit per day selling her food in Pesos. Would selling home made pies be a good earner do you think? Like the British Holland Pies. The good thing about selling Pies is that there wouldn't be any waste as you could always freeze the ones that haven't sold.
@MickeyMousePark5 жыл бұрын
I am sure Chris will answer your questions...but for pies an oven would be needed plus the cost of electricity to power it... In all my time in the PI i never saw a pinoy have an oven..unless they were with an expat...Of course there might be a way to cook the pies in a dirty kitchen i do not know...
