I tried artflow on my Mobile and found something pretty cool, you can control stroke opacity and size with the fingers, the opacity and size changed when touching lighter and harder, since I don't think the mobile phone has pressure sensivity on the screen, I guess they do it by measuring how much of the fingers surface is touching the screen.

That's called sensitivity~ it offers an AI way of using stability if you dont have a Stylus~

I love my Samsung tab s3 and I use sketchbook pro all the time. To be honest the tablet and application does not matter. All have there quirks but what matters is the skills of the user and his/her understanding of the tools. Once the skills syncs up with the tools the art will definitely show through. I remember when I painted more 20 plus years ago in a paint program before photoshop 1 or 2 was introduced in my school. I was able to create good art in paint like uniix applications when I was in college. Wish I would have kept doing it but I digress. The Samsung Tab s3 works for me with sketchbook pro and artflow but sketchbook has was more polish. I can save to google drive and finish up the drawing or painting in photoshop or clipstudio. Great review! On my Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S-Pen which is like much cheaper S3, Artflow seems to be the most stable, and runs smoothest even with 4096 x 4096 canvas size, and Painter struggles to run on a4 300 dpi, and brushes starts to get choppy and laggy, but it has so many features compared to artflow.

Boro, in IP you control the opacity with the side bar, you need to click the opacity ring and a lot more options appear. As for the blur- it's hidden away in filters tab.

Ibis Paint X is a really great drawing app for Android. Has built in stabilizer, tons of brushes and more. Guess not too many people know about it. Artflow is good too. Both have little to no lag.

You can customise ( tweak ) the brushes in sketchbook and move them around though so you can set up a set of brushes you have tweaked, at least I'm pretty sure you can.

Thanks for videos. I had the Samsung S3 but sold it and got an Ipad 9,7 2018 instead. I liked the fact that the S3 stylus is a lot smaller and that it is passive, needing no charge. I didn't like the performance of the programs tho. I purchased every Android app with painting capability and tried to like them , but small things aggregate. I also didn't like the OLED screen. Will be interesting to see what you think of it.

Personally, I gave up on Infinite because it was never stable. Crashed far too often. I rocked ArtFlow for three years and Sketchbook Pro for Android for four years before upgrading to Surface Pro. No going back after that.

my biggest problem with Tab S3 is that I can't disable the devices air shortcuts on my pen which prevents me from using the artflow pen button functions. As far as Artflow is concerned my biggest problems with it are the lack of perspective tools and no text editor. BUT since its way more reliable and it doesnt suddenly bug out and close on me like Infinite Painter when stopping timelapse recording and/or adding new layers. Reliability over extra features for me is always going to win :D

@rrr I love being a pirate for things, but this time I would like to encourage you guys to buy the app. It helps support development of the app and if it prospers, chances are, a lot more developers would look into expanding graphics and art apps into the android ecosystem. The only way to get apps as strong as procreate, we have to start supportive devs.

Infinite Painter opens psd's now (in the recent version) but upside down. Sean, the developer is working on this. But, all you have to do is simply rotate the work rightside up again and continue working on it.

If you enable Android's *Developer Options* you can _Force activities to be resizable_ which will force split-screen support for all apps but can cause some app layouts, that haven't been built with it in mind, to act weird.

I have a Simbans Picasso Tablet. Decided to try Artflow based on friend's recommendation. UI was clumsy and hard to navigate. Artflow kept locking up and draining battery. The drawing features were quite good. My issue was the UI, interface and ease of use. Not ruling the app out, but will wait for UI to be less confusing and more user friendly.

BTW Borodante, if you try the beta of Infinite Painter, there's a brush pointer, a feature you asked for on your review of the apple pencil, you should test it out but is currently to be implemented in the future

I don't understand why you would compare them. ArtFlow and Illustrator each have a completely different purpose - one is pixel-based, the other is vector-based.

I kinda knew what you had to say about sketchbook, because I've seen the same situations as I've been using it since I was a noob... So it is kinda nostalgic for me.. But I hate that it can't create custom brushes like in the pc version. And of course as you mentioned, it lags behind pretty easily and crashes quite a lot too if your device isn't strong enough.

Greetings from Spain Borodante. Your points when comparing both programs almost perfectly matches mine, I have both apps and definitely Artflow is more stable at the moment, and when doing brushstrokes is a tad faster on my Galaxy Note 4, it might be a matter of a few milliseconds but I can notice it, anyhow IP is still very fast. The stability is the main reason I use Artflow for doing full paintings in prolonged sessions. The only thing I quite differ is about the blending, I mean it works very well for my personal way of blending (I'm old styled, so I don't mind if the colors not blend realistically) but I agree that compared to newer brush engines blending feels a little antique. I have a question, I'm planning of getting a Tab S3 when it gets a discount after the S4 comes (I prefer the 4:3 aspect ratio). My question is if you have tried a matte screen protector over it (or over a Galaxy Note) and if it creates any kind of problems when using the spen over it, like parallax or scratches over it, as I have never used one of these. I have an old Eizo fullhd matte monitor that still performs brilliantly and for prolonged periods of use I even prefer it to the 5K iMac I'm using at work, the resolution and colors are beyond awesome on the Mac, but the reflections, as low as they are on the new panels can get very distracting with time. Hi, I hope my respond isn't too late. While I don't currently have a Tab S3 (tried it, couldn't stand the 4:3 aspect ratio) I do have experience with matte screen protectors. I have it on my 3 year old Note Pro 12.2 and it's the best texture for drawing. One tip I have for you is to switch out the tip of the S Pen to a hard tip (there's a tip replacement kit that comes in the box, same goes for Tab S3) I found that the soft rubber tip that is in the S Pen by default, felt too grabby with a matte screen protector and didn't allow the pen to glide across the screen. Switching it to a hard plastic tip solves this issue and still allows you to feel the matte texture when you draw. Feels almost like pen on paper, just a bit less friction. I haven't had any parallax issue with the pen tip in my 3 years of using it with a matte screen protector. As for scratches, while I haven't experienced it myself, your mileage may vary. Hope this helps. =)

With infinite painter on the galaxy s3 I have the weird glitch where sometimes when I pick up a new colour or change brushes it just draws a solid line of colour randomly across the canvas, did you experience the same thing? Between that and the crashes it really slowed my workflow to a crawl.

artflow will not work in desktop mode at full screen. it remains 40% of the screen. why is this important well artflow in 2020 not doing desktop mode means it wont work well with pendisplays supporting android or the combinations of using phone as a desktop with a drawing tablet attached also does not well. infinity painter has this checked and it works in 2020. artflow needs to fix this

I own the iPad 9.7 2018 (gen6) and the Apple Pencil. As you know it is not as responsive as the pro, but the 10.1 inch display is awesome and the pen is more responsive than the s pen for example
