Something to keep in mind that you did not mention is that the xd10 is capable of much higher PWM drive frequency. This helps smoth out power delivery emencly. Great for running on smoth concrete.

Interesting! You made me go back and look at the specs. The XR10 Pro G2S can modify the PWM from 1k-32k. The XD10 extends it to 48k Not sure that difference is really noticeable for most folks, but it is a slight difference.

Ive had all 3 😅 XD10 is keeper for me overall smoother, better cap bank (stock), turbo settings can go lower than the other 2 so you can get a very nice slow ramp up, havent seen any lack of power stock xd10 drift settings are very decent from get go and has a drift 10.5t and drift 13.5t profiles already ore programmed also the BEC on the XD10 is bigger 👀

Outside of what you mentioned of XD10 pro vs XR10 pro, and the PWM frequencies that others have mentioned as well, XD10 also comes with more drift-specific profiles pre-loaded. But that's about it indeed. Oh, also, XD10 pro has a combo deal with their D10 motors for drift, so that may be enough to convince some folks to go with the XD10, as that results in better deal than the ESC and motor separately. But, if you already have a motor, or don't want the HW drift motor, then there really isn't muc difference between the two.

I went XR10 over the XD10 because it seems the XR10 does pretty much everything the XD can do (slightly lower highest PWM frequency is the only thing I can find in the XD10) but the XR with it's higher power rating seems more usable for other forms of RC if I want to use it in another vehicle at some point. Great video!

One thing to keep in mind with esc power... The motor 'demands' power from the esc, having a more powerful esc won't make the car faster, all else being equal. As long as the esc has enough current capability. I would be surprised if you would pull more than 30 amps with low grip. Have you ever measured current draw? Like your vids.

Hi again lol. Im about to pull the trigger on the G2S for my race buggie and moving my XR10 Pro Stock is going in the drift car. My question is in regards to the 2 different G2S models. I like the framelsss fan one (stealth) but my concern is that the stealth version can only take the frameless fan. I cant find any videos taking the G2S stealth apart. Does the fan frame coke off the esc chassis? From pics it looks like the frame for the fan is apart of the chassis now. The elite version just has a normal 30mm fan on top. I've asked around and can't get an answer on the G2S stealth. Between tbe 2 G2S models do you have a preference. As you can tell I have a hard time making decisions haha. Thank you for all your kindness and help

Hello Troy! I’m going to ask also from you. I have annoyng issue with my HW XR10 pro drift ESC in my drift car. Now I lost brake and drag brake. It’s not braking at all and drag break isn’t work. All adjustments in my radio are fine. I have 40% drag brake in my ESC and I also tried to raise it, no results. Also my brake rate and everything should be okey. Is there some adjustments which will make braking and drag breaking impossible? Do you have any clue what’s happening with my ESC? End poists are adjusted couple of times now also.

Hmm. That is odd. My guess - ESC is not seeing the signals correctly from the controller. Maybe the controller is bad...maybe the ESC. (1) Do you have a spare controller or ESC to test it? (2) You can do a full reset of either ESC or controller.

I have a burning question. I have a skyrc combo, toro 160A competition and Ares 2.1 10.5t. I notice that on my FMX the motor gets super hot after about half an hour of hard drifting. If I were to switch to another setup, which one to choose? Hobbywing or acuvance? And why does everyone have 10.5t and not 8.5 or lower? I'm fairly new to this, so I need some captain to explain to me some stuff. Thank you!
@RoadsideRC
@RoadsideRC Жыл бұрын
For your motor temp: try gearing down to reducing timing a few degrees. That should help out a lot. The Acuvance stuff seems a little overpriced for me. It is nice, but has been hard for me to justify the price tag. Drift competitions typically limit the motors to no lower than 10.5T - so that is why most folks run that spec.

RPM is a factor of voltage (I assume you are running 2S) and timing. Either 1) the total timing is very low, 2) something is broken, or 3) turbo/boost is not actually triggering for some reason.

As previously mentioned I'm building a reved drift car and couldn't justify spending more on the drift esc than my buggy esc that I race alot. So my plan was to put the XR10 Pro Stock Spec V4 in the drift car and then upgrade the race buggy esc but I don't see a better esc for the money out there. The XR10 Pro is tiny and weighs only 28 grams. It is only 80 amps but again I'm running blink mode 17.5 so im not pulling many amps either. Is there a better 2s esc out there for my buggy?

Hi Phil! Pretty straightforward actually. Typical settings revolve around 30* on the motor, plus 15* turbo and 15* boost. Start there, then turn the up and down in 5* increments to see how the car feels. Just don't go much higher than that 60* total timing. Watch your heat.
