Thanks. When you start a backtest, you can shift the timezone to match your timezone or your broker's server time.

Hi Hugh, I have one question about this software. Is there a tool to measure RR ratio, like the one in Trading view? I want to calculate the lot size, but I can only find out the pips using the settings of a rectangular shape. Any tips? It would be nice if this software had more options to configure the theme. I prefer the background black but it doesnt allow to change the font color (blue) in the settings thanks for your quality content, I always find myself coming back to your channel and videos to anchor myself it feels like home

Hi, thanks for watching, I'm glad you find the content useful. Yes, there is a R/R tool under Insert > Add RR Tool. It's actually better than the TV tool because is shows multiple reward levels and is just like the modified Fibo tool. If there's a feature you want, contact them via the forum. If it makes sense, they will add the feature for you. They just added a gap Rule for me yesterday.

I mean, if all you're really looking at for backtesting automation, Trendspider has a fantastic program that lets you program in setups and actually has in depth metrics as to how it did, and will find you current charts that fit that setup as well

Yeah, there are plenty of great fully automated backtesters out there. What makes NM different is that it can help manual and semi-automated traders too. Not all strategies can be fully automated and many of the most profitable strategies can only be partially automated. On top of that, not everyone is cut out for fully automated trading. So NM allows anyone to build strategies from manual to fully automated. ...and this is just a one time fee, with updated data included. Most services like Trendspider charge monthly.

@@TradingHeroes Yeah the cost does seem way better. So in general this program seems to have an intuitive drag and drop style logic system (which also seems a fair amount better than the trendspider one) for trying to automate your system, I mainly picked up Forex Tester 5 simply because of the timing issue I described below. Tradingview butchers multiple time frame backtesting since the candle doesn't gradually accumulate into a larger time frame simultaneously. I wanted to be able to observer when the 15m broke structure and it's behaviour before it eventually broke a 4h structure point, and on tradingview that was impossible. I'm assuming with each one of these rules, you would kind of treat it like a line of code or individual function, which can be scaled up to create some pretty complex rules? My kind of strategies are highly market structure specific, not "crossover" etc strats, so it would take quite a bit of complexity to articulate what my brain picks out of the market. Can this program do that? How about Forex Tester 5? It looked like the strategy tester was locked behind another paywall of a program with a different name from the same company, Easy Forex Builder or something. I have 30 days to return the software, any chance you can make a video where you show yourself backtesting through multiple time frames, or at least playing the candles through it and the general UX/UI of the program. So far all I think I've seen is the rules based approach and it's builder, but that will come in time, right now I need a backtesting program that can help with a discretionary type system. Agreed, TV is fantastic for trading and charting, but the backtesting part isn't all that useful. The also don't give enough data to do a full backtest on the lower timeframes. For multi-timeframe manual testing, NM behaves the same as FT. This video will show you the building process in NM: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4qoY6SOq7Z2Z7c NM visual builder is the best I've seen. There might be better ones, but not at this price point. You can create some fairly complex rules in NM. Visual tools like EA Builder are pretty much useless.

Love the idea, of beck testing as well as building an EA just one thing can this software create an EA "EX4/5" file to be used on MT4 or MT5 like EA builder

I've found that EA Builder and Easy Forex Builder are super limited in the code that they can produce, so you can't produce a usable EA with those tools. Downloading from the site and importing it into MT is also painful. NakedMarkets cannot generate MT code, but that might be something for down the line. But with NakedMarkets, I've found that I can produce automated backtests that are actually practical. That's probably because the program isn't limited by having to turn the rules into code that MT can use. Once something works in NM, it's easy to send it to a professional developer to have an EA coded up. I'm always going to have a developer create it anyway, I will never risk money with a generic website EA builder.

Does it have simultaneous candle advancement across numerous time frames? For example if I'm watching 15 minute candles, can I watch the 4h also go up and down in that same candle before it prints it? Tradingview fucks this up horribly, where you play one time frame forward and have to manually candle advance a candle on a different time frame instead of it being synchronous, leading to the manually advanced candle ruining the highs and lows of the move, or sometimes just straight out being incorrect.

I need a software where I easily can move between higher and lower timeframes. I fint zones on higher and enter on low timeframes. I HATE TW for this because it often "cannot display" data. What do you recomend for me. Anyways, great videos!

With this software, you can have multiple charts open at the same time. Very cool. Sounds good but I've been reading and hearing from a few articles and videos that MT4 historical data is not accurate, which surprised me. They say it is important to backtest with more accurate data sources like TickDataSuite or Tickstory which of course cost money. But accurate data is essential. What do you think?

"Accurate" is probably not the right word. Since the Forex market is decentralized, different brokers will have slightly different data. So the prices will be roughly the same, but there will be slight differences. Therefore, if you backtest with data from MT4, then you trade live with Broker X, your system may not work. This is especially true if you trade on lower timeframes, where the margin for error is very low. If you trade on the 4 hour chart or higher, then it's less likely that you'll see big differences in performance. But it's always best to do a test with your broker's data. MT4 data is useful because it can give you a quick and dirty look at if the strategy is even remotely profitable.

There's no such thing. Ultimately any signal provider will fail because you don't know how it works and you'll give up on it. If you don't know how it works, how will you know when it stops working? Yeah, NM doesn't have that capability yet. I just contacted Denis and the next release will have a feature will have the ability to add indicators, from what I understand. Join the NM forum and add your suggestions, they are very responsive. Keep in mind that this is still early days for NM and they are much better than FT right out of the gate. FT wasn't solid until version 4.

Thanks. I know of 2 professional traders who use Ninja to backtest, but I don't like it. The whole platform still looks like it was designed in 1995. It's really clunky to use.
