Thank you for actually showing how to set the tent up from inside (how the "umbrella" mechanism works). How do you close it though? Do you have a video showing that?

We are actually going to visit the couple that have this tent next month. We will try to remember to ask them. Great idea on doing a video on how to close it.

@@GrassRootsLiving I ordered their pentagon version. Sadly, I can't even open their UP version (I've tried), at least not being a solo camper. I'm too short at 5ft and while I'm not a weak female, I'm not strong enough or tall enough, to do what is needed to even open the tent. Thanks again for the video and future videos.

The "plastic" window inserts are actually rubber material. They are rated to -50C. So you could fold them without fear of them cracking in most weather conditions. The stove glass heats up to 1382°F. So the side shields could be used to reduce the heat output and for safety.

Could? RBM is the best 4 season tent! The over engineered tent also has the best camping stove too! I bought the cuboid 2.20 with the awning extension (additional porch area!! You could live in these tents in Alaska in the winter too! It's also part sauna when you're learning how to damper down it gets so hot!

@@GrassRootsLiving I've wanted to buy a tent for years so I've been investigating and really wanted to winter camp. A few months back I ran into this Survival Russia channel and Lars (Larsen) is from Russian and his English and humor is amazing. Anyway Lars is demoing this RBM tent and I was caught hot line and sinker! Off to Amazon I went to drop down a small bucket of money. The tent came rather quick and I think it shipped from Tennessee? They use Russia packing tape I'm sure but I 100% believe is a Russian made and designed product. The camping stakes are made from what looks like from rebar and I thought that seems excessive and very unlike a Chinese crap thing? Yet, if you have super deep frozen ground you need every bit of that beefy spike. I also have a portable air conditioner and with a double walled tent I could totally chill that way down. Of not talking boondocking but so started as winter camping idea just turned right into it could middle of the summer and I could be super comfortable too! I'm overly happy and while I've never done a KZbin video, I'm so impressed I just have to do one for this beast!

Does the floor come with the 10th and it attached to the tent so when you pop it open the floor is there
@GrassRootsLiving3 жыл бұрын
That is a great question. The next time I talk with them, I will try to remember to ask them. I do know that they ordered a 'special' insulated floor, so they may have chosen not to use the 'regular floor'. On the Russian Bear Market website it says, "Outer tent, inner tent with floor, frame" as part of the packaging. Here is a link: hottent.com/collections/tents/products/bereg-universal-tent-up-2-comfort-4-person Watch the video again starting at just past the two minute mark. They talk a little about the floor. Hope this helps. :)

BUYER BEWARE! This tent frame's sliding mechanism is defective from the factory and broke off in my hands upon initial set up. RBM'S answer for a fix was to send me a replacement part that didn't fit. If I can save one person from the nightmare that I went through, this comment is worth it. DO NOT PURCHASE!

Very interesting tent. A little on the spendy side. I have a canvas Kodiak flex-bow tent that I have used down to 16 degrees F with the Mr.Heater buddy, and was comfortable. It takes me about 15 minutes to set up by myself and has room for two cots and a table and chairs. Headroom for 6 foot tall guys like Dean and cost about half of what the RBM does. Travel safe guys and I think you will need a bigger car to haul that tent!

Definitely not a tent for backpacking...lol Pretty neat stuff though...I have a friend much younger than me that lives in a yurt full-time out in the mountains along the coast in British Columbia and uses a wood burning stove for heat all winter. At my age, I think some more "little luxuries" would be needed...lol Take great care guys...Bruce and Otis

Only problem with the tent is actually quite a big one. If it starts pouring hard, water will get in underneath the tent. It couldn't survive a half inch level of water...😔
@GrassRootsLiving3 жыл бұрын
I talked with the young couple. They said that they have never had a problem with water getting inside. They said the flaps on the outside bottom of the tent do a good job of sweeping the water away from the tent. Having said that, I guess it would depend where they set it up. Anyhow, thanks for the feedback. :)
