I've used Shotcut for most of my videos and is a very good program. When using it though, with the standard settings it can lag a bit with more complex projects.

You should have given more insight into the severe lagging problem in OpenShot which had been my favorite for years but not any more!! It's playhead either moves very slowly or not moving at all making it impossible to edit videos. It is pathetic such a good video editor has come to this state!!!!
