I like how Flowey isn't truly serious in this battle, more so slightly annoyed, however he just messes with you in this fight. He knows he has the upper hand, and that you can't do anything about it.

Actually he can't do much thing. He hasn't absorb any soul so he lack power to boost his determination to load and save however he wish. It also the reason why he get pissed because he can't kill Clover and hate the idea to fight for eternity

@@NexoNexus Clover soul isn't Determination but Justice. Although Human soul can use each other power, the color of the soul represent which it mastering and represent. Clover can Save and Load but won't be winning against someone with Determination thus the reason why Flowey can reset however he wish Clover Soul indeed won't be able to interfere Flowey to reset but Justice isn't something to be underestimated. Had it been LV 20 Clover (Genocide route), Flowey didn't have a single chance to win against Clover because Clover Justice would become Judgement that represents absolute power (cannot be trapped in Flowey mind anymore). The laser that disintegrated Asgore would kill Flowey instantly and likely Judgement can now interfere with Determination Save and Load (the reason why Flowey accept his lost, he may be return but he can't reset the timeline under Clover sight thus the time Clover in Underground cannot be disturbed only the after but you still can't reverse the time to the point of Clover in Underground. This timeline although to be not canon still show that Clover have become untouchable

For anyone confused, this fight and the fight after it are NOT Flowey after absorbing any souls. It takes place inside of Flowey’s mind as he torments Clover for fun before finally absorbing their SOUL. Essentially toying with his prey. Of course Flowey didn’t account for the fact that Clover is stubborn as all hell

Yesterday I was playing through the neutral route, and I had just started this fight when I got a Discord ping. So I go to check it, and see that it's from the official Geometry Dash server, it was sent by RobTop, and it just says "@everyone check steam". I then proceeded to leave Undertale Yellow open while spending a solid 10-15 minutes frantically trying to figure out if the coveted Update 2.2 for Geometry Dash had actually finally been released or if it was somehow another fakeout (I wasn't seeing an update on Steam, ended up having to restart my computer), and this song was playing in the background the entire time, and it was PERFECTLY capturing how I was feeling in that moment. So beyond the thanks that I have to give to the entire Undertale Yellow team for making an absolute BANGER of a fangame, I have an extra bit of thanks that I have to give to NoteBlock for accidentally scoring one of the most memorable moments of my life.

Now, massive spoilers, but obviously anyone here already likely is prepared, Under normal condition having a Souless Flowey fight be this difficult or powerful wouldn't make sense, however, making this take place as Flowey is partway through absorbing an already dead Clover's Soul makes perfect sense, We already mostly lost, through Flowey's traditional sneak attack fasion, we're just struggling to endure and persist as we go through a wild rollercoaster across his demented fractured sociopathic mind, It's all just taking place inside him as he chooses to have us experience his thoughts as he wants, and in fitting fashion, he simply gets bored eventually, as that was always one of his key aspects as a character. We win not by beating him, we win from him losing intrest and him reseting same wat as he always has across however many countless years/centuries of existence he's experienced and did since he first started his descent into his new form and until Frisk showed up.

@@beywheelzhater8930 Yep, As I said, It's a clever justifcation that makes sense, A single dead Soul would have such a hard time resisting, more than a immensely powerful combined alive soul against a supetcharged flowey. Fits pretty well with his canonical capabilities, The only implausibility I've noticed myself in the game so far as a big lore nerd is that it takes place in the wrong year, as Chara died in 20XX, and the Yellow Human would have fallen far later, and Undyne may not be very old by then.

This was genuinely one of my favorite soundtracks in the game- How it plays with your expectations- The way is sells the cute turned horrific. It let's Flowey's mask fall to something otherworldly and way too powerful for it's own good. Somehow the genuine threatening feeling of the song sells to me how twisted this is for him and for Asriel, which is so fitting given you get to see his, frankly tragic, descent into maniacal twisted thoughts and murder. This track instills SO MUCH FEAR in you throughout the whole time. It constantly plays with your mind, often times basically outright saying "Yeah no you're hopeless." in terms of music. Then quickly brings back the slightly heroic melodies then rips it away with the distorted Flowey's theme. It's like he just squishes every chance you get to even think about winning or even backing out. You CANNOT win. This is a game of time, not life. How long will it take until you quit entirely? How many times can Flowey rip you apart until you genuinely just stop trying? There is ZERO way to win this anyway. All you can do is just pray that somehow you will pull through this fight alive. I love how Flowey's attacks are also just him killing or hurting himself in some way, really just gives you the idea of how sadistic he really is. Not to mention his self hatred. Overall what I'm trying to say is this theme kicks ASS. And I have you to thank for it.

Opting breakcore for the Flowey theme is a very clever choice, not to mention the composition is very dynamic, making the song very expressive. You did a really excellent job with this! Honestly, this the best song for Flowey I have heard ever since I was an Undertale fan.

ive never seen any fan project for undertale that got anywhere close to replicating the feeling of seeing photoshop flowey and hearing "your best nightmare" for the first time, but somehow, undertale yellow did it. and i am absolutely fucking obsessed. all the tracks in this game are fantastic but i really like this one in particular because it feels like UNDERTALE more than anything. good job on this dude, you nailed it.
