I like the small detail, that Vergil's judgement cuts tend to follow the target or just cover a huge area, while Dante's two judgement cuts are for two set distances, implying Dante is just copying the movements he remembers Vergil doing and he can't do much else till he figures out the weapon.

It's honestly really cool detail, especially given in EVERY OTHER INSTANCE we've seen Dante just pick up and IMMEDIATELY master every single weapon he's ever gotten his hands on. Yamato might be the only time you get to actually distinguish, no, wait a minute, he's not actually perfect with anything other than maybe Rebellion. His skill floor is just so high it's hard to compare where it is relative to the skill ceiling but Vergil shows us Yamato's.

There is actually a quite serious discussion going on between Dante and Agnus regarding the nature of human belief and faith, but this is Devil May Cry and they will be dammed if it will not be as over the top and hamtastic as possible. Why, I could almost call the writing Shakesperian, but I wont. Edit: And yes, the quality Dante speaks of is a heart that can love. Humanity's ability to love and fight for what they love instead of endlessly searching for nothing but power and domination makes half demons more powerful than full blooded ones.

That's why Sparda and his descendants are so powerful. He was motivated by the woman he loved. Vergil craves power because he hates how he was too weak to save his mother. Dante is a good guy at heart who really does fight to protect others and probably also fights in the name of his mother's memory and the human heart she gave him. Nero desires power and is willing to become a demon for the sake of protecting the woman he loves. I believe Nero spells it out to Sanctus later; telling him that Sparda had possessed a heart capable of loving another, which is something the demonic Pope lacks as proven by his statement that love for another is a foolish thing.

I said it on the last vid but I'll point it out here again: Lucifer is in some mythological sources the father of Belial. Mundus is the father of Berial. Lucifer, the devil arm, has the sign of Mundus' three eyes on it's skull. Mundus has a red laser attack in DMC1. Head-canon: Lucifer is the devil arm left behind after Mundus' defeat in DMC1.

One regular Pandora shot will take out the orbs and is much less finicky than Yamato. You can also knock away some of Savior's swings with well-timed Drives, which can knock him over in that last phase.

You dont even need to time that shit with Lucifer. Get all three sets of pins out with Lucifer, then use climac (back and style in sword master. The one that sets them up all around you to explode on touch) Just fucking annihilates him when he swings that hand or elbow down on you

Spider-Man PS4 is not a style action game. The combat system in that game was perfectly fine for what it was meant to service. It was smooth, fun and was designed to be simple. I feel like your criticism is pointless and reductive to what the game was meant to be. Designing a combat system like that is extremely difficult and takes resources that were afforded to other places that were more important.

@@14megasxlr Sure, it was *fine* for what it was, but there is obviously room for improvement. What Spider-Man's combat system has going against it is that it's fairly repetitive, and there isn't enough incentive to actually use all of your gadgets or to even mix things up in combat. You can go through the entire game just doing uppercuts and dodges, and you'll never be particularly punished for it. I feel like "It was designed to be simple" is a cop-out defense of a combat system that ultimately was more simplistic than it needed to be. Sure it's fun, but by the end of the game I felt like I was kinda done with it. I never felt that way when playing Prototype or any of the Arkham games. Don't get me wrong, Spider-Man is a super fun game. But saying "It could have been better" is still valid, because the game does have flaws.

@@TwoStarPlayers Saying "It could have been better" is really not a good criticism. Anything "could have been better", but I doubt making the combat system more like DMC would have made it better. Spider-Man's combat is more complex than Arkham City's combat was, so if you're burnt out on it, it's likely just because you've seen the same combat system before. That doesn't make it bad. And if getting more points, or filling out all the optional challenges isn't enough "incentive" for you, then I doubt a style meter would be either. And no, designing something to be simple is a choice to make, not a cop-out. Because it gets you through the paces in a snappy and satisfying way. I never got bored of the combat, so I don't know what your problem is. I did every single mission and side mission in the game purely because it was fun. God of War only "incitivised" you to switch things up by making some enemies immune to certain weapons, so if you want more of that go play DmC Devil May Cry if you want shit game design like that. It's not fun, it's annoying. And Spider-Man is not about "styling" like Dante is. He mocks his enemies, but his persona is still rooted in a much more down to earth and practical sense of combat. Comparing him to Dante shows a shallow understanding of his character. He's a scientist and a super-hero. Not a nigh invincible half-demon.

The Dante and Agnus scenes perfectly capture why DMC4 Dante is my favourite version of him. While he's playful and a jokester who doesn't take much of anything seriously, he still occasionally shows a nice level of maturity and responsibility. He's a cocky bastard but he's a genuinely decent guy underneath it all. Really hope this characterisation continues in 5. I'd love to see him becoming more protective of Nero.

That's why I like this Dante the best. He's more mature than in 3 but he's more fun than in 1. The cutscenes we've seen so far of V indicate that Dante is trying to protect Nero. I hope we get some good familial moments between them.

Okay so guys; I'm not gonna justify Dante's actions, but I'm going to explain them. Dante's reasons for letting Nero fight Sanctus first are basically the same reasons why Goku has Gohan fight Cell. He did it because he saw potential in the next generation and he wanted to give the next generation a chance to learn on their own how to surpass the previous generation; since he probably thought that he wasn't going to be around for much longer. That's the way I see it, but you guys can still obviously still make the judgment on weather or not that makes you a good role model, guardian, or parent.

I agree with the Cell saga comparison specifically for the part when Goku makes his son do it so he can experience that protagonists' ability to pass any obstacle and become the best. Depending on how the story of V plays out I may agree 100% with you in the future.

@@thelivingglitch307 Yeah I'll admit it kinda seems pointless if he is still kicken and is still able to kick butt by the end of V, but it might make sense if he at least implies in this game or V that he is starting to feel more and more tired as each day passes or with each time he DT's, gets massively injured, or over exerts himself. I imagine that eventually his human factor will play in at some point in V or the future where he'll, ware himself out like All Might, get too old to fight, or die from going too far past his body's limits. It would be cool to see him go out with a bang in 5; especially since he looks like he is on his way to retirement, but the fans probably wouldn't want it to end even though 5 games in my opinion should call for either a good ending or at least a change in protagonists! Of course the only reason I'm saying this is because I like how Star Wars changes its protagonists every 3 episodes; how would you feel about the baton of protagonist being passed on to Nero?

There is an actual explanation as to why Dante can just shoot the bosses dead and Nero can't. Nero is only using regular bullets while Dante is firing small magic bullets. Seeing as how Dante is the unstoppable god king of the DMC universe, he could always just end it with something like that, but he waits until the end for more style points because it's more fun that way.
