This is the first time in a while I've seen a Sega styled-Indie darling. With the Nintendo-styled things you got your Shovel Knights, your Undertales, and your all around nice and warm games. With the Sega Styled-things you got stuff that certainly looks ok. I'm sure this won't be buried under the hundreds of other indie platformers out there that died on a hill no one wanted.

The game looks kinda slow for a Grappling Hook focused kinda thing. I really don't dig enemies bouncing before their explosion, robs a lot of the impact. Plus the constant chatter between characters (often just for a obvious tutorial or objective update that's not really needed), the boxed-in repetitive environment, everything looks clunky and bland, not really a great first impression. Might be just the way they're playing (Woolie was being rated pretty poorly) but no signs were given pointing him to a better playstyle

Ya ever hear the term "dominant strategy" in video games? I feel that could easily apply to a menu option. However, it is a tricky balance between getting your audience to feel the game is too easy (Dominant strategy) or too hard (No difficulty select)

One does not writea book and intend for the audience to read only the last chapter. One does not make a movie and intend for the viewer to only watch the last ten minutes. Some conventions may be archiac, but there are other conventions which are staples in making a good video game.
